Because anime school girl outfits are ridiculous, bend over slightly and your undies are exposed for all to see. If you want undie revealing skirts, go play PSO2 or something (yes, yes, I know FFXIV has some too).

i m against it ridiculous school girl outfit, which almost no one wear that to school
just pure fan service or wet dream of the manga author
and i m against ridiculous high heel, we do have some leg gear with small heel, which i found it gorgeous, but super high heel? it is a pain to walk with it, and to fight an enemy while wear one? just shoot me
and i know, there will be reply like "what's the big deal adding something other ppl want"
i m not going to change their mind
but i will feel so weird to see school girl running around in FFXIV world
i m find if they adding uniform that look like school uniform, if the skirt is not ridiculously short and they find a way to fit into lore

yes sailor-fuku are actually worn to school? all the time? They are falling out of favor for a more blazer/skirt combo nowadays though.
