ARR best solo DPS?

So I know there's really no best class when it comes down to it, but I'm primarily a solo player and I'm wondering in your experience, what class is the best for solo farming/play and what have you had the most fun as and why.

I'm really thinking of making a Bard as my DPS class personally but I'm really not sure, I'm definitely interested in Ninja and Monk too but I'm only going to choose one.

So what have you guys found you have the most fun as?

well bard is hahaha. ummm seconds I'd say Scholar. Especially since you can solo anything at sixty
even A ranks (yes I've done it and yes it takes like twenty minutes... probably not the most efficient SCH but it's still possible hehe)

I totally second this! The mobility and kiting ability a Bard has is unparalleled. Although, after making a few other classes, I'd also suggest you try the Summoner. Not only do you have a fail-proof tank pet, you also get to quickly level in dungeons as a Scholar.

Warrior is pretty good for the solo content too because they have pretty good amount self heals, if you wanna play tank.

It's without a doubt, Summoner...

They are the only DPS which can actually tank very well, with their pet. They have great AoE damage, and just overall owns everything compared to other DPS in what I see as solo content.

What content are you doing though? Really isn't that much solo content in the game.

- Bard with Heal or Tank Chocobo
- SMN cause of Titan or like Bard above Garuda/Ifrit for DPS + Heal/Tank Chocobo

Both worked great for me - Bard was my first class as i started with ARR i hadnt personal friends who started with me nor a FC i joind in my first 2 month, so a range DPS was my first choice. After i got used to the game, mechanics and stuff i changed to SMN and started my 2nd relict weapon, beside DNGs with FC support all others steps i was on my own again but had never probs playing with my SMN solo - thx to the egis and my Valfaris

I think u could play every class solo with a chocobo just build it up the way your class has backdraws in. If u play a tank class build up his heal or atk skills, if u play a healer class build up his tank or atk skills.

But whatever u'll gonna do there will be a point somewhere at which u should look out for allys - trust me so much more fun than beeing a lonely wolf ^^

Beeing a solo-player doesnt mean anything in FF14 – you shouldnt level on mobs/Fates after you reach mid-lvl cause most exp are givin' in dngs or raids and those u cant play solo - even you reg those content as solo-player the game will throw you in a random grp to start that content. (Okay there is an unsync option since HW but its not relevant for your first class imo).

After rethinking your question i would say play whatever you like most - all of the current classes can be played solo with a personal chocobo – there is no need to think solo-play is a reason for a certain class ^^
