Every so often I find that a GC hand in (I make those on a daily basis for the GC Seals, going through a ton of the things with airship stuff) for Culinarian calls for some Bouillion Cubes. Today I went ahead and made two items worth 100 BCS each, and handed them in. I got enough Cubes to last me a while, I think.

Quite honestly, I thought the Favors and the Favor Materials should have been Blue Scrip items, not Red scrip items. Red Scrips should have been for the i180 gear, Blue Scrips to buy the level 57 set or the materials to get the i170 set.

I'll go and farm them. It will take absolute days. And I really don't want to. If I'm leveling crafting I should use crafting. Not botanist or whatever else.

I feel you and agree completely that we do seem a sub-par crafting. Being on the same server, I can confirm that mats are extremely expensive. Nonetheless we, as botanists, can gather most of the materials fairly easily, in HQ ! I also levelled my leatherworker and alchemist to 60 a few weeks ago, and it was an absolute nightmare compared to levelling culinarian. Because every single material needed to craft leather and gear requiere a way higher amount of time than we do as botanists, for an equal result (rng-wise) or even less.

The only thing that really bugs me about the scrip system is about the drop ratio from the mobs on the map, which is insanely low. There are a couple of solutions for us, culinarian. I check the marketboard everyday, many times a day, and farm the materials for a couple of hours to craft an item that only few players are selling and/or that sell high enough.

There are many meals on Moogle, that you can craft easily to HQ and that can sell within the range 35>55k. This is how you can earn some gils (and save it ? or reinvest into red-scrips materials, as some other players suggested)

Having botany at 60 is a must-have for every culinarian these days. And it was the case in Realm Reborn too. Except it didn't feel like mandatory, as ARR botany materials were selling low - and that will eventually happen for HW mats too.

See the bright way. You can make profit today. You may not, tomorrow.

You can also get bouillon cubes by spamming CUL leves. I think the 56 leves can give them as well as the 58 ones? There are some really cheap leve turnins for CUL. Well, at least one - my wife made me a bunch to turn in to get her some cubes so she could make blue scrip turnins so she could get her CUL book.

I find the weekly cap for red scrips is way too low. It takes very little time to reach the cap. Then you are stuck waiting a week to get get more scrips.

I would like to see the weekly cap doubled.

Other than that, if you aren't leveling up all the crafting classes, you won't get anywhere.

The main thing I want now from red scrip perspective from SE is an increase in the cap from maybe 450 to 600-750. The price on MB for red scrip materials has been dropping adequately and is more affordable which was always bound to happen and will continue to happen as more people switch from using the materials bought via red scrip on gearing themselves to having themselves geared and by proxy selling them on MB more. So I do not have any major issues with the cost of materials as they are becoming more affordable as time goes on.

I do not enjoy the fact as a multi-class gatherer too, having to farm 99xblue scrip tokens per regional book though and needing all 3 books per class. It is not the idea of specific materials can gather locked within that bugs me or that need to save up blue scrips to buy those books but 99x9 when each token equals 50 scrip is a bit excessive to me since need to farm 44,550 blue scrip to unlock all types on the 3 gathering classes, especially when even after unlocked they are locked behind timed nodes, limited quantity and favors etc. I think would be good idea for SE to lower the cost of the books at some stage but it is unlikely to happen.

The Favor mats unbalance the whole system, if I want to acquire Gathering Gear I can't farm Favor Mats for my crafting... unless I spend 1 mil gil in Favor materials for 1 Red Crafting Token trade in. I've actually stopped crafting until I have MIN / BOT Left-side gear, holding off on the tool in hopes that we'll have new Lucis-type primary tools.

I agree. The Favor stuff is way overkill grindy. They are not hard to get, just very time consuming. Plus you are using up Crafting red scrip (as well as Gathering) tokens to got them. I plan on only getting the chest pieces for Crafters, and chest and tool for gatherers. But if I want to craft 2 star off hand tools, then I end up using up crafting and gathering scrips to get the favor stuff.

Rather broken system and way too grind intensive.

You probably know that you don't need that. Every node in the game can be harvested with mildly-overmelded (e.g. 14 total overmelds spread over 12 items) l140/150 crafted HQ gear and a Red Scrip mainhand. Get a i170 crafted offhand and you'll even better off. (e.g. 705 gathering, 717 perception, 614 CP).

I was *this* close to resolving to make my LTW/WVR sets myself last night (instead of just using tokens), and then I was reminded I would need to have access to the Favor mats. After looking into prices (since I don't gather), I decided it just wasn't worth it. They feel like an unnecessary bottleneck.

When the new 3.1 nodes come with crazy min requirements I'd like to be ready, if they keep it at 9 Gathering Tokens per week I don't want to HAVE to buy new materials from the MB while I gear-up.
