It's too much time now, but a combination of things (loss of cap with new tomes, law awards replaced with eso allowing for quicker gains, perhaps gear cost reduced) will make it more doable to grind for all in the future. The glory days of glamour shall come.
most people have no interest in playing every class. if there's no cap, they'll do 1 from each role (or for some people who refuse to play every role might do 1 melee dps, 1 range/caster dps) and after that just quit until the next iLv increase.
Just means I do not find it a factor to motivate me to stay subscribed. This method, depending on whether you go with a full set of Eso or mix in some crafted or Gordian takes 6-14 weeks per set. I'm really not going to do that for more than my main, so the time-based cap is not something that does or would keep me playing for months. I'm finding other things to keep me motivated to play - at least for now.

^ This, if anything, I would be more motivated if they raised the cap sooner, but then, I play all roles.
Wow, somebody else that remembers the REAL struggle. It was even worse with the relics requiring mythology tomes too making you choose gear or the "+1" relic that EVERY SINGLE GROUP expected/required you to have for the "+1 only wp runs" groups. In short its not that bad, especially for an mmo which are designed for you to get addicted to and spend all your time on anyway.
I think the problem is that it's not letting you spend your time, once your capped it's done. goodbye. No more item progression for you, come back next week! Of course if the other option is for them to make the game into a job where I'm spending 30-40 hours a week trying to cap, I'll pass.Wow, somebody else that remembers the REAL struggle. They could always make esoteric gear drop from the dungeons, but with a 5% chance and it would be a random piece, not job specific. Like the old days where item loot lockouts weren't a thing!I think the problem is that it's not letting you spend your time, once your capped it's done. goodbye. Ah. Inductive reasoning. You make my MA in Philosophy very happy.Science and evidence work the opposite way my friend. The demonstrable and historical remain true and probable to a greater degree until evidence to the contrary can be shown. We don't need to disprove what is, rather the person questioning needs to validate a hypothesis. Statistically speaking the hypothesis that there will be no cap lift in 3.1 and that 3.2 will introduce new tomes has a greater chance probability wise than not because we can ascertain that historically this has been the way it has worked. Does this mean that it can't change? No, certainly not. But to imply that historical cycles need evidence of probability vs a completely unsubstantiated hypothesis that goes against them is fairly ridiculous. It's like saying Bigfoot exists because you can't prove he doesn't.
You mean like the Void Ark gear (I know it's not as low as 5%, but it's still absurd with all the items that can drop).
