Could be the design of the gun having less recoil.
We don't know the extent of the gun technology in Eorzea only that Eorzea Gun technology began with Blacksmithing in Limsa Lominsa and since then advanced over time.
Machinist also have access to unique ammo due to their Aether pack they carry around. Something about the Aether Pack being adjusted to manipulate Aether so it can generate the Machinist's Drones and Ammo providing them unlimited supplies. So what kind of ammo the Aether Pack creates may also factor into the low recoil.
Not to mention the ammo on the Aether Pack looks like shotgun shells.

Much like magitek, it's probably more magic than machinery.Could be the design of the gun having less recoil.

Blacksmiths don't make complicated systems of rollers, slides, and springs that would actually reduce physical recoil. That'd require precise machinery-designed parts.
what kind of strength are we talking about here?
magical, physical?
what do we use as measurement? scale of destruction? raw damage? number of victims?
But does a MCH sing while in the midst of battle to rally their allies??? That's some hard stuff to do while dodging attacks and aiming with a bow! xD
Probably should have clarified this in the beginning. Basically what Im asking is, if all jobs had to fight eachother either 1v1 or in an all out brawl who would come out on top? Lorewise of course

You can see the ammo pretty clearly in the skill icons. The shape's similar to modern bullets.Could be the design of the gun having less recoil.

I say most likely SMN with the DoTs + Bane(if battle royale) + egi + channeling the power of the elder primal bahamut himself.
though whoever wins in the end might have different results. after all we have DRGs who can jump long distances, NINs with shukuchi, BRDs, MCHs. those 4 can probably take out all those high powered casters in an instant.
raw damage is usually held by casters, though vulnerability during casting is a pretty big weakness.

Definitely smn in that case. They DoT the hell out of everyone and have a egi to attack for them. In the meantime they can heal themselfs and their egi.
400 heal physicks... I'd say astrologian, Nocturnal Benefic does everything they need to survive while dotting the enemy to death.
