Maybe they don't want their computer hooked up to their tv all the time and don't want to be hauling it around to different rooms of where they live.

to add to what Lexia said, some PCs are inconvenient to move, some are hefty weight wise even today. there are many reasons people decide they would rather have a console.Maybe they don't want their computer hooked up to their tv all the time and don't want to be hauling it around to different rooms of where they live.
most of the people I know who use a PC on their TV in their livingroom built it for that.

kinda makes sense.... but wireless and a long hdmi cable are still way cheaper than a console and buying the game again.
we have a 25 foot hdmi cable under our carpet because my GF bounces between monitor and TV, also have wireless keyboard, mouse, and controller.
for a little extra we could have replaced that hdmi cable with wireless connection.

he might also be getting a PS4 for other games you know.kinda makes sense.... but wireless and a long hdmi cable are still way cheaper than a console and buying the game again.

Keep in mind that having the same account on two different platforms means you can access the same characters, and they'll have all their same equipment and inventory, but Gear Sets, hotbar setups, macros, HUD layout, triple triad decks, (and maybe a few other things) will NOT carry over between the two and have to be separately set up (and maintained with any changes) on each.
Personally, I found gearsets the most annoying (perhaps because they tend to change more often than the others). Anytime you get a gear upgrade and update your gear set for the new item(s), you'll need to remember to do the same next time you're on the other platform. Otherwise, you'll keep equipping outdated gear or trying to change gear and having the system not find all the gear from that set.
I'm more amazed why people would think that just because it's possible to rig a PC that way, everyone should do it. It's also possible to get a console and set it up in the living room so that you can leave your PC where it is, set up where it's most convenient for the other 95% of the time.

you don't need to move a PC to play on a tv and the main reason I even posted is because i've seen alot of people who didn't know you can hook a pc up to a tv and how its just as easy as console is to play on tv.

You also have to factor the graphics card and Internet connection. If you don't have a good solid card or connection, you're going to get a huge frame rate drop. Right now, I play with only a 840m card and using the HDMI cable I have (PS4) makes it unplayable.kinda makes sense.... but wireless and a long hdmi cable are still way cheaper than a console and buying the game again.

Maybe their PC specs arent the greatest and the PS4 version is a graphical upgrade for them.
That's my case anyway.
