I've go an idea to increase people's DPS. Two ideas actually.

So, my friend just messaged me complaining about how she had to carry the DPS in A1 normal and got upset, which is what inspired this (these) idea(s).

SE would implement a dummy in-game in an instance private zone only available to the player. It would parse the player if they're DPS and if they meet the threshold required, they would get a discount on their subscription, like a dollar or something. Anyone who fails to meet it doesn't incur a consequence. Their subscription will remain normal.

Now, the other idea I have is the same thing, except if they fail to meet the threshold required, they would get an additional 33% extra charge to their subscription fee. It'll be a learning tax. If they fail to meet it again during their second cycle, they'll get tacked again with an additional 33% tax off the base subrate. So basically, if they fail the first time, $20 monthly. If they fail again, $25 monthly and so on. This is assuming they pay $15 for their sub. fee.

I'll think of something for tanks and healers later. What do you think?

Do you WANT SE to lose players faster than WoW did after Draenor's launch?

    Ahaha no thanks.
I mean personally I think my DPS is fine. Even if I were hitting 2000 sustained DPS I wouldn't want it. No thanks.

That's a really great way... of turning a game into a job. If players are being carried in content they need to resolve it amongst themselves, not turn the game into a weird boot camp where people of limited means are penalised more IRL for not being as good at pressing buttons as others. Heck, I play with massive lag and know that I'm not going to be putting out massive DPS (well, that and my main job is a healer). I also don't raid and have never even gone into Alexander normal, so I'm not sure why I should be forced to pay extra if I can't meet your completely arbitrary requirement.

I cannot even imagine how this would work for healers/tanks.

Part of the challenge of team play is to get all of the members of the team to work together and be decent, otherwise all raids would be solo to begin with. And the richer players would still be putting out horrible DPS even with your idea, they'd just be paying S-E more for the privilege of annoying your friend.

While I have no reason to turn down a discount on my sub, this is the worst idea I've read on the forums. How to increase people's DPS? Implement a group parser in content with DPS checks, they'll soon learn to improve after they've been kicked for doing awful DPS.

I've got an excellent idea too!

How about she finds people she doesn't have to carry?

I'd think it would have made more sense to just removing lot casting rights behind actually participating in a meaningful way... Make that a DPS check for lot rights if you like, I'm honestly only really pissed off when someone gets themselves locked out, yet still gets to cast lot... They did nothing for that loot, they simply shouldn't be allowed to cast lot... I've lost count of how many times I've witnessed that injustice... Another reason I loath the Duty Finder, I suppose...

Perhaps not out right locking of loot, but I really would like to see the default lot system in this game improved somewhat... I'd rather see all loot delivered at the end of the instance, with lots being a factor, but overall participation and even Commendations (another thing that needs a serious overhaul, why can I only give one if potentially everyone is awesome?) also factoring in... That way being awesome gives you an edge when casting lots, and being a shithead means you're screwed. Much better than a purely RNG based system IMO. You clear an instance, get a rank for your performance, commendations, etc., and see how that helped your lots (with all loot being delivered at this point). If you lost loot for any reason, you can see why and know what you need to improve.

Somehow not surprised everyone hates this idea. You're asking that folks not be able to just blindly mash buttons on DPS, and we just can't have that.
