Then ask for similar events and items, not the exact same ones.Which.... is pretty much what some people are arguing for: putting the items in the Gold Saucer, possibly along with some FFXIII-flavoured Gate accompanying it (though I'd say preferrably not), would be just that. A new way of getting those items, similar to how some 1.x items can be gotten through retainer ventures.
There's also one 1.x dagger that didn't get converted into a sword the way all other gladiator/paladin daggers were when they introduced rogue/ninja, so 1.x players lucky enough to have one of those are the only ones who can run around with a dagger-wielding paladin. (Unless SE 'fixed' that one -- I hope not, though.)
Though... I wouldn't really consider an event promoting another game to be comparable to consistant in-game activities (like the hamlet defence, etc) ^^; But that's just my personal opinion.
As for the chocobo/goobbue, the question you responded to asked "that don't have a 2.x version" -- 2.x does have versions of the chocobo and goobbue. It's not the same, but it's similar enough IMO.
