I thought the ironworks and Demon robe (albeit a bit less) were decent looking on male characters...

The scholar esoterics gear is quite masculine.
The problem is lack of variety in the gear in general in this game. Outside of dungeons/tomes SE just recolors and reuses the most boring things over and over instead of making varied and unique armor.
I realize more interesting gear comes from dungeons but that doesn't mean the following isn't true; especially when factoring in dungeon gear isn't dyeable.
Look at the AH.
How many caster pants do you see that aren't tights? How many DPS pants do you see that aren't sarouel? AND OMG THE BLIAUDS!! I don't think we need 500 of each of those armor types with a slightly different fringe. SE could have made an entirely new and unique piece from the frill changes on each bliaud alone.
Heavensward is a little better than ARR was about it.

FFIII : Irrelevant due job system.

FFV : Irrelevant due job system.
FFVI : Banon is a male white mage npc. (2 male 3 female)
FFVII : Aeris is a female white mage (2 male 4 female)
FFVIII : Irrelevant due job system
FFIX : Both garnet and eiko are white mages (2 male 6 female)
FFX : Yuna doubles as white mage and summoner (2 male 7 female)
FFX-2 : Pussy fest yo
FFXII : Irrelevant due job system
FFXIII : Vanille and the androgynous Hope take care of healing. (2 1/2 male 8 1/2 female)
FFXV : Sausage fest yo
I guess I'm one of the few who likes robes, even on my male character :/
The i180 crafted set is a spinoff of the WHM af/relic set from FFXI. It can give you that WHM-Y feel without a robe.

SHey don't tell others how they should feel about their characters. People and their double standards. What's wrong with showing a little femininity? I'm a guy IRL but I am not 100% masculine. I don't think anyone is.
Women are not 100% feminine either. In fact in todays society it's encouraged for them to be tomboys. I wish us guys would stop trying to pretent to be ultra macho.
I know it's from WoW, but still hilarious for this topic:
