Report him, he's using illegal program that's all the end.So, there’s this guy I know on my server who is really fond of using parser addons to view everyone’s dps output. The other day he contacted me and said that he was going to train me because I made some bad mistakes as a bard.
This actually broke my heart a bit. I’d managed to get to level 60 in game, with an ilvl of 191 and I’ve just been put off doing anything with bard again because of this guy’s attitude. He made it seem like I’d committed some cardinal sin because my DPS was too low and I didn’t have a fixed rotation (it differs depending on the situation so its not fixed like most people probably keep too.)
So, reason to the thread... I've gotta ask the community this: Have you ever come across people like this?
Here's my advice: record your rotating and parse yourself, post it somewhere and ask for feedback. Not every bit of feedback is viable. I had a sch main tell me that adlo was useless outside of 24 man raids. This guy could be completely wrong
this was the biggest point of my post despite it being taken as a "just report him" thing
he didn't offer constructive critisizm he outright assumed the OP needed his help and told them he was going to do it without asking if they wanted it.
I don't give a !@#$ who you are if you tell me you're going to train me without first asking if I would like your help(I'm all for constructive critisizm mind you, and I try to tell people that) I'm going to take that as you have a huge ego that needs to be taken down a notch or 2

There's a world of difference in saying, "May I offer some advice?" and "I'm going to train you." One comes off as helpful, the other comes off as condescending.
ERP INTENSIFIES
OP, I'm gonna be real upset if I find you didn't use this as an opportunity to follow that guy around, call him senpai, and tell everyone in the vicinity that he noticed you.
Q20: Will we ever be able to send tells from within an instanced area?
A20: While the feature can be implemented, it’s currently masked. It’s currently masked because we would like to prevent players from harassing each other just because they know they would never party together in the future. We will continue to monitor the situation carefully as we move forward.
Woah... what a bunch of double morale you guys have?!
Calling this one derp and reporting him but on the other side for alex savage you praise him and whine for the need of a ingame parser...
Same as you would kick everyone from your statics if they are bad in DPS...
Still, it isnt right to ask random players about teaching the class because of low DPS...
What if the player just learned a new skill and is experimenting new rotations? You will hurt the feelings for sure!

You're a bard, your dps is secondary to support you provide which is far more important then some silly damage in most cases that is. Who cares what a stranger thinks anyways.
Report for him using 3rd party app + harrassment and then blacklist him
Yep. And guides should always be referenced by both parties.
OP should be reading them and Mr. Trainer guy should be linking them to OP.
All too often in this game some random know-it-all idiot tries to rain some "advice" on someone else, but that's never to be trusted unless they're also giving a source.
Guides are peer reviewed and the info in them tested. If something is wrong or reevaluated, it gets changed.
Ultimately, the player guides (the ones accepted as reliable) should be the foundations for the "git gud" discussions. Not some random in a dungeon saying "bro, do it cause I said" the more appropriate is "do it, but don't take my word for it. Heres the guide."
(The trainer guy could've done the above. We don't know; this entire thread is hearsay.)
