A Need For Healers?

This seems to be one of the few MMOs where there isn't a dire need for people to play healer. There's usually an influx of tanks and DPS classes, but healers are a precious commodity, and good healers are even rarer still I'm not complaining, more framing a question: Are there any servers where healers are needed? I've glanced over the server sections and haven't seen a drastic need for healers yet, which is impressive and interesting.

I'm currently playing on Gilga and loving it. The community is very pleasant and I've yet to have a bad experience playing. With that said, I really enjoy raiding in a PUG but parties seem to take quite a while to form: usually waiting on the tank. Are there any servers where the parties are waiting on the healers? What about Balmung (or any other RP servers).

I've seen a few static recruitment messages up for healers on Balmung. On the other hand, my EXRL queues lately aren't particularly short.

Good healers are needed everywhere. But much like other roles they are few and far between.

At this point in time I've seen a really strong demand for good bards and machinists. They seem to be lacking in the savage area. Seems like a lot of people dropped the job to try other things.

Thank you all so much for your feedback, I really do appreciate it! I may move over to Balmung at a later date for RP and for more party purposes, but Gilga is still my home and I'm still really enjoying the community.

What about Balmung (or any other RP servers).

Gilg has RP, if you know where to look. It's definitely not as prominent as it is on Bal, but Gilg has a little bit of everything; RP, PvE, raids, PvP, casual, ect. If you want to do it, chances are that there are others who want to do it too.

As someone who uses the PF on greg I can say that healer spots fill fast.

Primal data center, tanks almost always adventurer in need on every roulette, not sure what algorithm for that is though so I don't really trust it (for example, does it check for tanks first? THEN check healers? Let's say there's 4 tanks in duty roulette but only one healer, but it doesn't deem 4 as enough so the reward for tanks will stay there until it passes a threshold say 10, then it'll switch to healers) On my main in BEHEMOTH server, sometimes I switch back and forth between healer and tank in DF to compare que times.

Dungeon que times feel nearly identical to me. Maybe tank has a slight advantage in off hours but that may just may be me imagining things as they're usually instant-10 sec on either. I've had to wait 3 minutes on a dusk vigil que as a tank if I remember correctly, though that could have just been the DRK hype flooding the que a month or so ago.

The main scenario and trial roulette are the interesting ones. I sometimes see the bonus for healers and EVEN DPS (lol) but DF says the average wait time for healer is 10-12m when I que for healer, while queuing on my tank immediately afterwards it says under 5m. I shouldn't laugh at the dps in need though. Once at 12 AM the healer and tank spots were full and we waited about 40 minutes for just two DPS to join, that was annoying.

Guildhests were faster on my healers, I doubt anyone cares though.

In PF, I usually see the tank and healer spots filling at an equal pace, although it's usually the tank starting the group anyways. Not much really I can say about this because the party I see either need that one last healer or that one last tank.

I'm also not sure what you mean about influx on tank in other MMOs, this wasn't the case in WoW at least, the worlds most popular MMO. One thing that was very obvious for me was the difference between tank ques and healer ques in WoW. Tank was always instant no matter what. Healer was always at least a 2 minute wait, never had an instant que like I do in FF14. Dps was 10+ but they aren't nearly as bad in WoW as they are in FF. Dungeon dps ques in FF is equivalent to the raid que times for dps in wow lol, probably due to the higher number of dps allowed in dungeons and raids.

I went on a very strange side rant about que times but I believe I already answered your question. I've seen both looking for tank and healer occasionally on my server, it's too close to say which is better than which, I think tank is probably a little better but I don't have the statistics in front of me. The most recent FF survey say that an equal number of people have a tank/healer job at 31-60 but I have to admit it's rather vague so interpret it as you please

You are correct, but it's within your data center I believe, which is why I specified Primal for DF. Behemoth is in Primal, Gilgamesh is aether, Adamantoise is aether. Only things like PF and static recruitment is where the specific server matters
