What Selli said lol. Gilgamesh is probably one of the least friendly servers :P so really surprised to hear that. Anyways, balmung is in desperate need of raid healers. There are pf up looking for them all the time. Especially SCHs.

Again, thank you all for your input!
As for WoW, I've never played it, so I can't compare. The games I have played (DDO, ArcheAge, Aion, ESO, and a few other smaller ones) were always in need of healers, so I guess that is where my baseline assumption is.
As for Gilga, I have transferred off of Gilga due to the replies on this thread and headed to Balmung for further RP and to begin working on leveling further as a healer to be more useful to the server and community. Now if I could just stop wood cutting....
Thanks again all, I do appreciate the feedback!
(coming from a main WHM)
A lot of the dilemma with healers is that, while there are a lot of people that can "just keep your HP up" and get you through the dungeons, they aren't actually the best healers in the world. We've a lot of really bad healers out there (like those who forget about DPS entirely when healing or do too much stance dancing).
The entire plight of the massive amount of healers is really because we're plagued by a lot of bad healers. Some of them are good, a lot of them are good -- don't get me wrong there! I've seen some healers that put me to shame with their awareness and MP management. But the problem is that people simply don't try to improve themselves, they just play the job.
I guess the same thing could be said about DPS and Tanks, though.
I don't mean to come off as overconfident or cocky, sorry if that's how it came out.

I've kind of suspected this on account of the EX queue for healers not being particularly short. Getting through dungeons is one thing but I've heard of some friends statics having severe trouble finding healers that can handle Prey + Hypercompressed Plasma in savage.

I'd say there's a lot of mediocre healers out there. They are passable for everything besides savage. The skill floor (not sure if that makes sense) of healers in this game is pretty low.A lot of the dilemma with healers is that, while there are a lot of people that can "just keep your HP up" and get you through the dungeons, they aren't actually the best healers in the world. Healer is almost if not always the last spot to fill in PF on Lamia for EX, coil, and savage raiding. My 60 healer friend was going to take a break until 3.1 but after logging on Sunday he's being actively courted for five different raid statics.

If you are looking for a good FC, let me know. My FC is pretty awesome. We aren't RP specific, but we're definitely a well rounded FC that includes levelers, raiders, crafters, PvPers, etc.As for Gilga, I have transferred off of Gilga due to the replies on this thread and headed to Balmung for further RP and to begin working on leveling further as a healer to be more useful to the server and community.
