Why is BRD considered "support"

MCH falls into the same category. The developers (for whatever reason) consider the MP and TP regen abilities of the two classes to be different from the utility-type stuff that other classes have. Army's Paeon and Promoted Rook are AoE whereas Goad is not (up until recently, BRD/MCH had the only option for AoE TP regen, in fact--AST can now provide this as well, but on a pretty limited and random basis). BRD/MCH also have the only way to provide Magic Vulnerability (Foe Requiem and Hypercharged Bishop).

Whether or not that's enough to warrant their DPS deficit, I don't know. Personally, I'm of the opinion that their DPS should be higher with Wanderer's Minuet/Gauss Barrel active than it is now (probably another 10% or so, but that's just a gut number).

Just increase the WD on their weapons. The gap between ranged weapons and everyone else has gotten even worse since HW. I can't remember the exact numbers but the # of ilvls behind they are has increased in 3.0.
