No MMO developer would say this period it's not event he reality of it. You pay a subscription to access their digital product with the expectation of periodic updates due to the subscription.

Go ahead pitch the idea to tell the community that they are only paying to access the servers and nothing else. Not a soul is going to look at you sane at the product pitch. Your argument is the worst strawman that is constantly brought up, and no consumer who values his investment into the game should think that period.

In your volley at my argument you destroyed your own. The very word you used contains no limitation of the timing between said updates. So no foul is committed here. You would have an argument IF the patch was cancelled. It's not. Just delayed.

Or I could just point to the 2.0 release schedule to show that people are upset because for the same cost (Actually more because the expansion cost extra) we are getting less frequent updates. the Developers are giving us less for us paying more.

There is no limitation on timing and they are free to do yearly updates if they want, that doesn't mean they aren't pushing back the standard they have set without any justified means such as more content per update.

This is it! as you said, the major foul here is that they are messing with their own precedent. To this, I agree. They flew close to the sun and got burned out. But they are still keeping their end of the pay-bargain by still releasing the update.

Clearly not enough, as they wouldn't have shut down if that wasn't the case.

NCSoft did shut it down true, but many fans, from my observations, would have been happy to pay a larger fee just to be able to play it again (after it was shut down).
