I think most of the posts in this forum can be summarized with the points in your post. Yoshi is too focused on 'new' players to the extent that they have poor player retention built into the game. Think about it for a second, almost everything we do is targeted to help new players advance but there is little advancement for end game.

At least in 1.x they had player polls so we had some voice, but now we must assume they read the forums, but i honestly doubt it. If they did, we would have more then 2 ex dungeons, 2 sets of end game gear and bard would not be a caster. (heh we might even have a ranged phy dps that didnt get a 'support class' label applied... (aka a justification for the weakest dps possible))

The only option i would see is to fire/replace Yoshi. Seriously, i think its time for some new directions and leadership. He seems more like a celebrity then an executive producer.

Hopefully one day they realize that 'Grind' does not equal 'Fun', and as a company engaged in international business, that they realize they need to cater to multiple audiences even to the extent that their communications are in multiple languages. Its 2015, about time they realize that their fans don't all speak Japanese. The excitement fades quickly when we need someone to translate for them or wait a few weeks before they get to it...

sadly this is not an SE only "issue" its a common problem on basicly ALL eastern mmo developers. ALL of the eastern mmos in the past decade have failed in the western markets (sure they keep running sometimes but only with a very tiny playerbase of diehard fanboys) and the main reason why they failed was almost NEVER technic or graphic or gameplay. it all boiled down to either of two things for thier endgame content or at worst BOTH of it : GRIND + RNG. examples : Tera/Aion/Lineage2/bladeandsoul/black desert/archage. they ALL have had this issue.

i think they dont understand WHY we dislike this at all. they dont get it which MIGHT be a result of the language barrier you spoke of aswell not sure. they have totally different mentalitys over there i think. for some reason they take grind and RNG as a challenge for themselfs while we HATE such stuff and rather want content that requires playerskill to get done. and i think they just dont understand this kind of "thinking" we have on that. hence why thier mmos keep failing on the west one after another. archage beeing most recent example.

ff is imo one of the most successful mmos on the west because its grind and RNG amount are not even close as crazy as these other games. but you can see it here and there on ff aswell if you look for it (materia for example) but its still not AS bad as those other games.

if they would understand this and rather create challenging and engaging content thier mmos would probaly be VERY successful worldwide. but they keep sticking to GRIND+RNG meta forumla and while some of this is NEEDED and ok once they go past a certain point it becomes crazy and unfun or rather unfair or feels like WORK instead of GAMING neither of these is good for a mmo. example : if youre to stupid or unwilling to learn a bossfight and dont get the rewards its YOUR own fault or problem. but if the RNG keeps deleteing your progress because youre unlucky you are not to blame for it because you have ZERO control over your luck/rng and that is frustrating as all hell and this is the point they dont seem to get sadly.
