Well SE answered that with adding specific loot we can ONLY get from that dungeon - lets look at pets - but the RNG is just insane, you can farm for months and not even see it drop!

open world is "one big dungeon" and you was first to bring up dungeons!
We had open world dungeons in 1.x and it was fun, there we could find chests too - you dont call that dungeon drop?

You can not glamour "Fish Glue" neither you can turn them in for something!
To sell everything on MB its hell a lot of research and undercutting war, not worth the time because often you will sit on that trash forever...

It took me the first 2 weeks of eso capping to realize that's all there is to do for a casual ish type player, and once it's capped for the week, the logoff button appears more often.

They missed the mark with no relics or no anything that would take a very long time to complete, people have for the most part gotten what they need, and now are just doing 1 expert roulette a day and then logging off.

Let me ask something, what good is full eso gear if you are just going to logout in it?

I've done all the content except Alex savage, and yes the game is very boring right now. Leveling jobs is a chore, capping tomes is a real boring chore, gear is very boring, golden saucer sucks, primals are pointless, and alexander savage is just a buffed up version of trials we've already done(not to mention you have to base your life around the game just to clear it like its a job or something). Everyone I know who plays feels the same, it's getting to the point where we don't even want to log in anymore. Anyone who denies that is game is becoming stale is honestly just delusional at this point... I mean really, what is there that can really be considered fun or exciting? I'm just holding out til 3.1 to see if things start to change.

My main problem is why is EVERYTHING behind tomes! It is honestly the most frustrating thing for me. The relic quest while boring and grindy was at least different. Hell it even used tomes to buy items for the weapon but it wasn't ALL tomes. And while i'm at it why is the weapon the only item that has it's own quest? We got the new "AF" gear with no quest line involved what so ever! It is nothing more than a symbol of time spent in the game where as at least when the Relic was first put out it was a status symbol that you knew how to play your class (Or bought a Titan win). Why can't we have new quests for armor as well as weapons? They could have added in steps for the crafters and gatherers into the parts of the quest for this gear and then everyone would have felt included. There are so many different ways to keep the current system but just mixing up the ways in which we obtain items would be HUGE!

It guarantees people in queues for a long period of time and keeps people from getting geared as fast as they possibly can, deciding there's nothing left to do, and unsubbing until the next patch.

Gates are, unfortunately, a necessary evil when it comes to pay to play MMOs. The alternative to time gating is RNG gating, and at least with the former you have some control over how long it takes you.

Ok perhaps I wasn't clear in my statement. I understand why we have tomes but the way they are used is what bothers me. Handing in tomes and just getting the item/weapon is just very bland to me. I would have liked to see some creativity such as buying an item with tomes and then using that to start a quest that ended in some type of challenge I would have preferred 100 times more.

That is an example yes. And while I will admit going to X place to kill Y enemy wasn't that great it could have been expanded on and lead to better solo fights that where class specific like they did with some of the class quests in HW. The books where sort of a bad example of a good idea imo.

How about add a 100 floor open dungeon? (Sword Art Online style)

Yes, an open dungeon that's 100 floors and you can bump into anybody on the server while trying to get to the top.

This game is suppose to be an MMO, but instead falls into the trap of turning everything into instances so you feel like you're not even part of the fantasy world.
You know why? Because we have to take into account a 2006 released console: PS3.

Yes, SE's profits comes from the PS3 too. However, if they do not announce a stop to support it any time soon, more people will feel the game is not evolving. Heck, we can't even have changes to the UI since a PS3 would explode (and they want uniformity for every platform). Look how much time it took them to implement a TP bar. They had to remove stuff to implement it. It's save to confirm the PS3 is at its very limit.

Despite the profits, I do think a sooner drop of PS3 support would have given them more profits in the long run. They can't do much different at the moment because every single implement has to go through the PS3 check, which is close to nothing new they can implement.

There was plenty to do during the release of the expansion, the fault is with ourselves but also with how the content represented itself. 50-60 went in tune with the main story and then of course the content released after all tied to 60 content. There's plenty to do in this game but some might just limit to tome acquisitions and that's it.

It's your own choice to level other jobs or not, do crafting or gathering, or farm other items of interest whether for vanity, minions or mounts. There's plenty to do in this game and I"m certain those "bored" haven't done everything possible they've just limited their options based on what they are interested in and that's another thing to keep in mind.

This game is not just what you enjoy doing, it's a mix of what a variety of people enjoy doing at yes that means at a certain point you may end up having your fill of what you enjoy but I wouldn't say it means the game it's losing it's appeal rather you've had your fill of the pie until the next patch. You can't expect the developers to have content that keeps you attached for months or to introduce something on a bi-weekly basis however what you can depend on the devs to do is introduce content during major patches to entertain what you enjoy.

I'd honestly say there is nothing wrong with taking a break if that's how you feel, odds are you will be drawn back during the next patch and it will keep your attention but honestly is it all that bad if a game kept your attention for 2-3 months before you got "bored".
