I guess this is a fabrication of my imagination as well..I SWEAR the community rep there is saying we will get new egi...LOL. BUT OKAY!

That was in 2013. In the mean time, they decided not to add new egis because they would bring nothing new from a gameplay perspective, and instead add a pet glamour function because that would be the only point of more egis (apart from taking new spells slots from actual new spells).

Now the glamour stuff got delayed, but it will come eventually, just like the primal summoning by FCs will eventually come at some point.
