I think I'm lucky, usually I try to set the pace fo the pull according to the party composition, and if the others think I'm too slow they ask to me to pull more mobs. Only 1 time a dps pull for himself and I didn't take his pack. (Maybe I'm a bastard tank :P , but you can alway ask for more pull instead to pull by yourself)

This was immediately after we enter. I usually pull multiple groups depending on the Dungeon. For Neverreap, I can tank everything up to the wind currents that take you to the next island or everything up to the water spouts in the later area right before the final boss. The DPS immediately start pulling as soon as the barrier thing leaves when everyone is loaded in.

I wasn't "pulling too slow". I was pulling everything up to where you are forced to stop. And I know that in FFXI the ranged jobs like Ranger were the pullers, but this isn't XI. Here tanks run ahead and grab everything, since there are no such things as camps.

I wasn't implying that you were slow. Far from it. But, it is a trend you do see happen within the game. Everybody seems to be in a rush nowadays, both inside as well as outside of the game. It's very unfortunate.

I know that this game isn't FFXI, and i'm not saying that i want a FFXI-2. (^_^ ) I simply it as an example how the community of two online games from the same family, can still differ so much from each other. It has mostly to do with the fact that times change and because of that its people do so as well. It's up to us to make the most out of it.

But, i do wish that people would slow down a bit. Take it easy for a change.

I think some of those people come from XI where tanks don't pull so they think the same rules apply here I guess. It's frustrating that I'm going as fast as the game allows, pulling every mob to the next barricade, but that's STILL not fast enough for these people.

For me, I (we) pull big groups so I can stay awake rather than finish it faster (its a bonus though)

With a sarcastic "Good Luck!" and run from the beginning all the way to the end then have a laugh if we all die. Just want to find new things to do.

The one place that we haven't got through is just after the first boss in fractal to the chimera room before the second boss (11 mobs) because of all those AoE mobs

It's a way to challenge yourself and get rewarded for it

At first i thought... "Um... What? That sounds... wrong." But, when i googled it and saw that it was made by Denmo, i had to watch the first video. I have to agree. It put a smirk on my face. (^_~ )-b

And on a side note, the Wild Rose outfit doesn't look too shabby for a Bard. (^_^ )-b

I've actually gotten a tank do that pull and healed through it, but it wasn't a fun experience for me, I was basically out of mana and had everything on cooldown. But I get your point, pushing limits can be fun with friends, but please god don't try this stuff with three random people in DF especially without a warning first x.x

No because until tp parties became the next big thing, you pulled one enemy at a time in 11, and if you accidentally pulled more you either slept them if you could or tried your damndest just to stay alive, often ending up dead instead. I think people just like to use it as a scapegoat game instead of realizing it's just the developing trend of MMOs to try to get everything done faster faster faster. Partying in 11 pre abyssea was incredibly laid back, you often chatted and made friends with people on your server, something I miss instead of the click click clicking and silent runs that inhabit this title.

Don't worry, I'm on a jp server and can't speak much of it so I don't really do big pulls, although I've stopped doing expert with randoms now. Soon I'll stop doing it at all...

I guess this is a point of difference between data centers?
Whenever a tank takes many mobs at a time, I am very glad. It's not really the speed of the dungeon... but just it's more engaging when you have many mobs (or rather, you need to concentrate to survive).
And if we happen to have a wipe - then usually there is just a polite 'I'm sorry' and 'Don't worry about it' in Japanese or auto translate.

Of course this only happens after a few weeks because people have been able to sink their teeth into the newest gear tier.


Overall, I do feel that tanks are just too weak. By that i mean they take so much DMG and if it wasn't for abilities - they would not be able to tank at all!
DPS is starting to grind my gears... When I am a healer, I expect to be able to be able to be a healer. Not a DPSer+ keep everyone alive.

It seems to be that every single job is now (forced to be) DPS, it just so happens some also hold the enmity and some heal the HP.
That being said... those are feelings that come from the stress of Savage. Because in medium level content I don't mind being more vigilant, such as Expert.

Heh, what about Meru writing a poem and me sleeping on a stack of books next to her. Then suddenly i shout "I object!" while raising a finger up in the air, scaring the crap out of Meru. Only to fall back to sleep again, leaving meru with a /sigh or /facepalm expression. (^_~ )
