Warriors are overpowered too.
Warriors have also weakness their mobility is kinda weak. If you purify holm, warrior is stucked on their place and can not do anything. They have no gap glosers and can not remove heavy or bind themselves(without purify) like paladins with tempered will. And they can not support other team players like paladin. Without damage warrior would be useless because it is almost only utility that job have.

It's not, but I'm speaking relatively. Your overall damage done is expected to be a bit lower than jobs who can burst for kills more frequently outside of defending(such as MCH or SMN), since BLM can't do much when they have to be on the move or have no strategic point to attack from (when they're the ones making the offensive hit usually). Showing a high kill count doesn't mean a whole lot with "BLMs are bad" (and they aren't, but I wouldn't say they're as good either) and depending on the circumstances, is supporting what I've been saying that BLMs are far better at defending nodes where they can stand still and attack from high ground if applicable.
Warriors have extreme lock down skills, stun with the longest base duration, insane damage and durability to top with that they can frequently guaranteed kills with holmgang (because even if it's countered by purify, we've established that this counterplays almost any other burst). That's not even counting the PvP skills such as myhtril tempest, thrill of war and full swing.

Warror stun duration is same than mch stun gun 3 second in pvp. PLD have 4 sec duration that is longest in game. Paladin have clemency, cover for support and stun that have no cooldown + silence that can lock your target really hard. Holm does not prevent the interrupts. You can still cast abilities into it with surecast or equanimity. Paladin can interrupt like 4 next casts with stuns and silence even if opponent use equanimity or make your opponent 7 sec stunlock + silence. That is really long time if opponent have full pressure on you. IF warrior would do similar damage than pld, would there be any reason take warrior anymore over pld?
BLM have probably more cc utility than any other dps. 15 sec aoe sleep, pvp instant sleep with same effect, 12 sec aoe freeze, 8 sec aoe blizzard 2, 12 sec heavy for blizzard, lethargy 6 sec heavy/slow. BLM can lock opponent healer really hard with sleep. You do not need 2 do that much damage if opponent is not doing anything either. For suvival blm have aetherial manipulation with 30 sec short cooldown that can save your life really often. If smn would do similar sustained damage than blm, what would be the reason pick smn anymore that have not much cc at all?

I find it funny, though, that, as it is now, Clemency is far more useful in PvP than it ever can be in PvE. That cast time is too long to be practical in a high octane setting.
Also, I wish more Dps realized the lock down potential of Pld's. Follow a Pld around and, assuming they know how to work even their baseline stun (not to mention pacify), it's practically a free kill. Pld's are far less useful in PvP right now because too many Dps don't pay attention to all the set ups they are being given... unless the Pld himself has no idea how to do his job, that is.
I'll give you the stun duration, I remembered incorrectly. My point still stands though; given the perspective of seal rock (and again remains the case unless wolves den in 3.1 is rendered relevant content), what a warrior brings to the table is more versatile and valuable than that of a paladin. Stun locking loses its value when it's outside of an isolated scenario because it can essentially be covered by other melees (which do it on oGCD so they aren't losing damage out of it either), while warrior brings something that no other job has ; a bind that isn't broken by damage.
Aside from the fact that they are much much more durable, I don't go after paladins because they'll swipe the hell out of a melee dps from blocking my hits. Outside of that, they also suffer similar weaknesses to warrior that they don't particularly have any way of closing in the gap; just keeping someone in place for a duration (which again, warrior can do but in a different manner, and both are typically death sentences anyway especially on a retreating team), minus the outrageous burst and plus cover to save a high-profile target (which only works on physical attacks, doesn't work too well against summoner burst orz). By no means bad, but I wouldn't say they're as influential as a warrior that can output stupidly insane bursts and 25% party heal via thrill of war.

While I admit that summoners damage can be ridiculous at times you need to realise just how easy it is for them to get destroyed in the matter of seconds,I feel as though the mentality of "that person is a priority" should always be a thing in pvp as I see too many people trying to kill snipe and going for a safe target rather then taking the risk to kill someone that can do heavy damage to your team.
For example myself being a MNK I will literally just shoulder tackle on the first summoner I see in a team fight and off load EVERYTHING i have just to get them to back off and then thats when i would run back to my team so that if im targeted I have purify ready almost immediately for the dots and have second wind ready and just like that i have decreased the threat that a summoner would pose to my team as they wont be able to burst as hard for another minute.
just my 2 cents on the issue but i cant speak from the other points of view as i only exclusively play MNK in pvp but if you think that im wrong then let me know but i do think that instead of complaining about SMN damage lets try to find other ways to get around it until SE do decide to do something about it
The only problem about this is:
1) Ppl are to scared of them
2) Ppl are to lazy/bad to realise they are easy to kill.
then ppl come "blah blah blah they are always top dmg leaders" well 80% of that dmg is uselss HARMLESS and easy to heal.
Their burst??? Have you NEVER seen a warrior doing 5k x2 in literally 2 seconds or a BLM doing the same?(wihtout having to wait a minut for next burst) Lol , plese stop the Bs about smn and just learn how to use ur jobs. If you dont want to do it...just keep complaning about a imaginary problem lol.
they are good but not op.
You, ma'am, are a beautiful little person and far too rare in the world of PvP.
You're not wrong. SMN'S do a ridiculous amount of Dmg. Of that, there is no doubt, but the real problem is that a lot of people in FFXIV simply don't have a competitive mindset. Normally, any character who does that much dmg or poses that much threat would be priority target #1, and NOT just when it's convenient. There were a lot of people earlier talking about back attacking a SMN when their team is on the retreat. As funny as that is (cuz', lets be honest, it can be pretty hysterical), that's total BS and the mindset of someone who doesn't mind coming in second place. A winner does not wait for opportunities. They make them.
A lot of people will point fingers at my class/job (Drk in PvP) and say "well you can do that because you have a bigger health pool/def/ blah blah blah," but you do not have to wait for the SMN's back to be turned for you to pulverize them into mulch. They are among the squishiest of all characters in the game. Every Dmg dealing class in the game (including the higher burst tanks) can solo dps a smn's health pool (especially if the smn is not using vitality accessories). The only question is if you can do it before they do the same to you.
