I don't support it.
I still think it's a bad idea in a subscription MMO.
.
That would defeat the purpose of the grind.
And if you can just buy your way out of grinding in an MMO... well...
I like what they do now. Other than Sliphnir and some Eternal Bonding premium options, everything has been available in-game for free. In any other game if you miss an event item it's gone forever. Those who are just starting up can still get things they think look awesome, cool, cute, whatever, for just a couple of bucks. I have just about every cash shop item without ever paying for it! That's an alright business model, imo.

So this is how Final Fantasy XIV dies.. With thunderous applause.
Because buying items with real money isn't fun (for me).

It is not fair.
Everybody should have the same opportunities to get cool stuff in the Game.
And the only way to do this (in a fair way), is through playing the game.
Another reason is, that i don't like it when a virtual world, where i want to distract myself from the real world,
is connected to the real world through a cash shop.
Luckily there is no inGame-Access to the store... yet!
.
I'm pretty indifferent to it. Glamours and previous cosmetics are fine, and so far there's only 1 cash shop mount compared to the dozens of free ones you can get in game.
As long as it doesn't become pay to win like selling gear (which is doubtful) or selling weekly resets (my worst fear) then it's fine.
Born to lose, Live to win.

WOW, YOU SUPPORT THE CASH SHOP? SHAME ON YOU. YOU'RE A BAD PERSON, YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD, AND I HOPE YOU CRY YOURSELF TO SLEEP TONIGHT.
Just kidding. Did I scare you?
At least the cash shop isn't selling us advantage, like a certain other game.

Yeah, if it's purely cosmetic, I don't mind at all. My nose gets a tiny bit out of joint when it's a cool mount, it makes my wallet emptier >.> I'd rather grind it in-game, for that sense of achievement. (Like my Fenrir!)
But it's still cosmetic.
I basically rage-quit when WoW brought out exclusive pets on their cash station, as they were super over-powered in the pet battles. >I used to win all those pet battles with my trusty arctic fox, and my scourge wyrmling. THEN THEY RUINED IT ALL!
And I ragequit runescape before that when they introduced pay-to-win-spin-to-win. Not only do you pay real cash, you then gamble it away! GREAT FOR THOSE POOR 10 YR OLDS STARTING OUT! Because a gambling addiction goes well with a gaming addiction.
The wheel would give exp, money, exclusive items.... Made me so mad.
Anyway, ff14 stay awesomeI am not going back to wow and runescape
Those exclusive friend mounts however, bug me. I don't have any friends who would want to start playing ff14 for me :< I'll never get that twintania mount thingy.
