    You know what i miss?

Leveling a job from 1 to 30, last time i did that was last year. I was hoping the 3 new jobs would allow me to start at level 1, but no. They gave us 3 lv30 jobs. Not only you have 20 actions to get used to at the same time, but it's like "here's your new class, it's lv30 already, we did the fun part and left you the boring grinding."

Is there any hope for a new lv1 class?

You know what I don't miss? Clicking 1-3 buttons over and over again to reach a level where it's not abysmally slow.

hm....if you want to play one of the new classes good, then you have to go to the low-level-dungeons too....don't you?

But yea, giving 3 lvl30 classes may misleads (for example) a DD to play a Tank without knowing anything about it!
I wonder how SE will manage this at 4.0
because atm it seems like it will be open for beginners...and if there are some new classes coming (surely will) how will it be for beginners? Can they start with a lvl 30 Job too?
I'm really looking forward to it ^^

that's always been the point of rpgs, you start with nothing and you work your way up by putting time in the game. No one wants a magic button to get you level max instantly, leveling is half the fun.

I don't see how this can currently happen. You have to have a level 50 class to complete the story through 2.55 and get to Ishgard before you're able to unlock any of the new classes. One would think that by that point people would be familiar with the color coding system for tank/healer/dps. So, you pick up a new class. You equip your weapon and change job to that class. If you have a blue icon by your name... sorry buddy, you're a tank. You aren't a DPS no matter how much you may want to be or think you should be.

I believe he meant that a DPS who has never tanked before is rather unskilled with holding hate and skips all the 'tutorial' part that explains it.

IMO, leveling 1-30 is not all that fun. Then again leveling 35-60 is also not fun, so meh moot point.

I hope the new classes start at 50 or we get experience bonuses for having level 60s.

I hate leveling in this game. Honestly it doesn't need it, it has a story.

I hate leveling, so I was extremely grateful for the head start.

...You honestly found it that difficult to learn new skills at 30? Not trying to be rude but...
You get a small handful to learn, and how hard was it really to understand what to do?
And for the "The boring grining part" you were going to grind anyways from 1-30.
You could of went back to Sastasha and learned how to press 1 or 2 skills.
Haukke/30 was a perfect start AND it's a fun dungeon lol.

Fun fact, most new tanks still don't know what they're doing by 30 even when they started at level 1.

Other fun fact, a fresh level 15 Marauder or Gladiator isn't going to know how to tank in a group setting either. Nothing in those first 15 levels explicitly teaches you how to tank.

Tanking is not difficult to learn. You accomplish it in the same manner you do DPS, by following a standard rotation. The only thing most newb Tanks have issue with is tanking more than one mob a a time. But understanding comes quickly.
Starting us at level 30 was a good move. It caused the 3 new Jobs, especially the Dark Knight, to feel a whole lot more complete than starting at level 1 would have.

I don't think i could have stomached leveling Dark Knight from 1 without access to Grit and the full 3 part enmity combo. Would have felt like Gladiator all over again. (Still does when I'm forced below Haukke for Leveling Roulette!)
