I'd be thrilled if I could fully preview a shield properly, instead of only looking at it while it is on my back. Can withdraw weapons on the preview, why not shields? In the latest Letter from the Producer LIVE, Yoshi-P discussed plans for a feature that will allow you to save parts of the gear for trying on. You will be able to use this feature to try on a full set of gear, or mix different types of gear. As for dyeing in gear preview, we're still looking into this, so we ask for your patience a bit longer!
MANTASTIC: I got 1017 problems, but playing FFXIV ain't one.
Llyren: Lala Tanks hit point density levels attract small planets
I think the simple solution is to have the Draw Weapon button always active on the preview, not only when trying on weapons.
i would do alot of favors for some chat bubbles.. ijs![]()
Hello, everyone!
Just a couple of updates I'd like to share with all of you:
Palace of the Dead trap colors
We've received some reports from players with color blindness to red that mention that they have trouble seeing the revealed traps inside the Palace of the Dead. We plan to make some adjustments to this and once we have an update we'll be sure to follow-up. We truly appreciate your patience!Mog Station code entryThanks for letting us know your feedback concerning these topics!
Great news, everyone! We've updated the Mog Station code entry forms to make it easier for users to input codes. Now you'll be able to directly copy and paste codes into the fields even if they have hyphens or spaces in them.![]()

An option to lock the usage of our rest exp would be awesome. Situation: Would love to save my rest for my higher level job as it lasts me longer and I get more mileage out of it, but I really want to try out this new job Ive never played before, suddenly I have to blow two levels of rest (which took forever to accumulate) in 5 minutes whereas on my higher level character it would have taken me all the way to 60. This is not an issue in games where you have multiple characters all with single classes but in FF14 its a major issue. A rest lock button would solve this.
... middle of the screen.
Text right in the middle of the screen should be placed in the chat log or added to the HUD/UI settings.
I dont need to see:
"FATE Joined!"
Area movement notifications:
"Hawkers Alley"
"The Drowning Wench"
others:
"Your retainer has sold xxxx item for xxxx gil"
"You have gathered 1 pot of latex"
The most annoying ones...
"You are 6 or more levels above the recommended level of this FATE. To join, please use the level sync function located in the duty list."
"Each time your party is defeated after having battled enemies for a given duration, the Echo will give you enhanced strength"
"One or more party members have yet to complete this duty. A bonus of xxxx will be awarded upon completion.'
"Commencing duty with undersized party. No EXP will be earned from defeating individual enemies."
"Duty registration complete"
as well as in dugeons/battles
"You hear the sound of a switch move in the distance"
"Where Hearts Leap"
"Where Hearts Leap is sealed off"
"Where Hearts Leap is no longer sealed off"
from right in the middle of the screen.
Not only is this information totally redundant (I can easily tell where I am via the map, or I can see giant blue circle on map, or sound and animations while gathering tell me if i missed or hit) but it is quite hurtful to the overall experience of the game.
Also please allow us to move all HUD/UI prompts from out of right in the middle of the screen such as:
Retainer name list
All retainer associated menus
questions from NPCs to ride the airship or take elevators for example
All of this "right in the middle of the screen" is overbearing, especially after noticing it.
I had always wondered why I never really felt like 2.0+ was a world within the video game, but a "menu" of sorts until I noticed how often something was directly in my eye/middle of the screen.
These pop ups appear literally like 1-3 times every 5-10 minutes in a dungeon, and 5-10 times every 5 minutes not in a dungeon... or more.
Its a distraction while playing, and "inappropriate."

It would also be great if Square-Enix would,
Please allow us to turn off zone lines.
(Giant blue balls on the screen, as well as on the map, is redundant, as well as a giant red arrow on the map, as well as a zone change indicator on the map, as well as a different zone name on the map. Redundant.) (I'm aware they are pentagons, but thats not the point.)
Also, please add *auto-hide* chat log.

I would love an option to turn off other "PC" or other "players" entirely.
(Meaning not being able to see their name, their character, nothing, like they arent even there.)
When doing story quests, especially when a new expansion, or even some patch content is released, hoards of players crowd the NPC, this isnt an "issue" as much of a "eye sore."
So being able to toggle seeing other players/PC's on or off would be a very nice touch.
Please assign emtoes such as:
/cpose
/sit
/doze
/poke
/pet
numbers so that players can choose between using their race specific emotes or go directly to a preferred /cpose.
Example:
/cpose1 = default /cpose
/cpose2 = second additional /cpose
/poke1 = Race specific /poke emote
/poke2 = "height adjusted /poke"
Thank you.
I'd like to suggest:
1. Adding a visual indicator for each job's major cooldownsFor example, Tank's mitigation and invulnerability, WHM's Benediction, DPS's mitigation and raid buffs2. Letting players "Ping" their abilities to tell party members they are on cooldownI came up with the idea from MOBA games and thought it would be a godsend in FFXIV high-end duties, doing so in said games would display a message in chat telling others if a certain ability is currently on cooldown or not and how long until it will be ready
The reason for the suggestions is that I used to clear Savages with PuG and recently joined a temporal static, after that experience, I feel that it's a totally different game with and without communication.
In PuG, we can't communicate as quickly and clearly as through voice channel in static. There isn't enough time to type during a fight, so I often have to guess how party members are going to solve the next mechanic, are they going invul or not, are they tank-swapping or not etc.
As there tend to be numerous accidents in high-end duties, things don't always go as pre-fight discussed, that's where timely communication is in great need to come back from a dire situation.
And it's why I'd like to suggest adding tools for PuG to communicate more easily, I think it would make high-end duties a lot more enjoyable for those not in a static.
