i got many bad players in DF.

A PLD that dont know what hate is, all he did was his rage of halone sword skill over and over again. the DRG had to tank bosses.
A WHM that only want to heal with AOE cures because single player cures is "special care".
A SCH that forget to heal the tank cause he's too busy dps'ing.
Players that dont dodge AOEs because "it's the healer's job to keep me alive".
Players who quits the duty in roulette because it's not the instance they wanted.

But most times everyone's good, it's just that the worse ones are so annoying they make you forget about the good ones.

While I was not intending for this to become a DF horror story thread, it's comforting (as well as disturbing) to see that many people have been affected.
Seeing all the "you must be bad if you're getting hate", "1 bad experience doesn't mean DF is bad", and "I haven't had issues, must just be you" is pretty disheartening though.

    1) You can do everything right, but still be kicked. Through the thread, I'm seeing a lot of that with healers. They try their hardest to keep their horrid tanks alive, but as soon as the tank dies, game over.

The only time I've ever been vote kicked was Hullbreaker as a DPS. The healer was harassing the tank for his pulls and stepping in traps (who was obviously trying to avoid them). Didn't make it past those traps before the tank had had enough and left. New tank: quickly became obvious he's the healer's friend. Just as bad. These two harass me and the other dps until he leaves too, and we have just reached the first boss. While waiting for the 4th dps, they target me. Then lo and behold, that 4th dps is their friend too. They continued to berate me, calling me "nub" and a racist (was using the title "the White"). Completely kept my cool and didn't react. After 5 minutes of this crap, I ask if they'll pull the boss (still 1st btw) so I can finish the instance. Poke another jab at me for "stop acting AFK then" and to "stop being such a nub". After this boss, all is quiet, everything going fairly well. Get to the last boss, get rebuffed, and I'm kicked. Yes, they got reported.

    2) Just because you personally have not been afflicted with terrible pugs, doesn't mean they don't exist. It's pretty obvious that from all the replies, it's not one time problems. In fact, most of the replies I've been reading have been coming from wonderful people.

    3) I agree that not playing into their hate is the correct action, but sometimes it just doesn't cut it. They've dug their feet into the ground and aren't budging. I would love to have an option to blacklist across servers while in instance. This would mean, of course, that the blacklist would actually need to affect DF.

    4) To everyone who has had so few bad experiences, count your lucky stars. I didn't mention that those 3 examples all happened within the last month. Trust me, I can count more, but I'd rather not. Before anyone says that it must be because I'm a bad player or anything, I am very nice in DF and am usually the first to ask if the new member knows the fight and will explain it without being asked. I know my classes well and offer advice if I see someone struggling.

I will admit that if someone starts hating on one of my FC mates in a DF, they're going to get attitude. I'll be polite at first, but I'm defensive when it comes to my members and my kindness can quickly turn into being snarky.

Screw vote for kick, he was going to take it into his own hands. He then stayed after the boss in order to tell me to uninstall the game and go back to f-ing Candy Crush.

Now, I admit that the low damage output was a mistake I made, but I didn't expect the intense cyber-bullying I got from this guy. I got /tell after the instance telling me how awful I am and had to blacklist him.

    I blame WoW.
Nah. I've seen that attitude out of players that have never played wow.

    Hell no.

if I wanted that, I'd play a PvP oriented game, not one with a half assed mode tacked on.

I do a lot of writing on Lodestone and remember getting into an argument about the idea that you must deserve hate if you get it. I feel a need to say it again here: there is a level of hate some of us have felt that is absolutely never justified ever. I, personally, think that trying to shame other people or be hostile toward them is poor form always, but when it crosses certain lines and makes people uncomfortable playing the game or progressing through content there is a huge culture problem. And there are comments in this thread like this one that juxtaposed with the attitude that people deserve what they get tears at my heart.

You realize Rage of Halone is last stage of PLD hate combo yes?

If DRG was tanking, he wasn't switching targets. If the DRG is hitting my same target, and all I'm using is my hate combo, that DRG isn't pulling off me.

I think they are saying that all said PLD did was spam RoH. Not the combo, just RoH. Since they aren't combo-locked abilities it's very possible that is what they are referring to.

Pretty sure they just mean spamming the un-combo'd skill Rage of Halone because it has the highest threat modifier. To this I say, at least the guy looked up something to figure out that it's got the highest modifier, or he just lucked out, or he just thinks the skill animation is cooler. ...or it's actually a 5-year-old behind the keyboard.

Is it just me or is the chance of getting "schooled" on whatever job you are playing proportional to the level of the dungeon you get. So the lower the level the dungeon the more likely you are to meet some criticism as far as your playing. It doesn't matter if you are lvl60 and just level synced!

Bonus points if you get a lvl20 on below dungeon. Be prepared to be "schooled" on a job they don't have unlocked and all of their advice to be basically arbitrary and difficult to comment on other than agree.

    "Tanks should do their best!"
    "Well...sure, why not?"
"You see it my way, you are smart!"

Lots of different experiences here. I met some of these flavourful characters through the DF as well. Probaby notable was when I was running the Vault with a DRK that absolutely refused to use Grit nor any defensive cooldowns whatsoever. It was a nightmare to heal through.

When we kept wiping at the final boss, guess who got blamed? ;p

They should give an incentive to play nice with other people. The Commendation system would be a good place to start. Somewhere along the lines of receiving at least one commendation grants you extra tomestones or extra exp. Nothing gamebreaking; say about 15 Allagan Tomestone of Law or 2% of the exp you need to level up if you get at least one commendation. Maybe add in 5 Tomestones of Esoterics while they're at it.
