Compared to FFXI relic weapons and how long they lasted. Yes, it's a significantly shorter amount of time. What like 6+years FFXI relic versus the several months the relic were "Bis" in FFXIV.

FFXIV had lvl 75 cap for years.....even then SE added mythic weapons -_- and that weapons really were a pain in the rear to get.

we knew that HW expansion was coming with lvl 60 gear and that relics werent going to be upgraded.

FFXIV relics are like wow legendary weapons , cool to have for that expansion and while leveling, maybe until 1 raid drop, after that useless.....not even usable as glamour

If SE did what you wanted and made relics last this long you'd just switch to complaining that all the new gear sucks and there's no point bothering to get it.
