What Roles would you like for Samurai and Red Mage?

Samurai shouldn't be in imo. I don't really see the appeal and it doesn't really sound that unique. Just another two hand sword fighter.

Well, as a DPS, it would be a change of pace. Our only sword-wielding classes right now are tanks. And who knows, it might end up sharing some of DRK's weapons or gear and end up being a "fork in the road" job, similar to Summoner and Scholar.

Won't happen SE said they not going to make dule roles on classes or jobs because of how awfull the balance of SMN and SCH wer they couldn't buff SMN with out buffing sch right now they don't know how to do stuff like this.

Also I'd rather have Blue Mage.

But I'm not going to go on they already are working on what new jobs will be in the next expansion and what roles they will fill these kind of threads while fun will leave nothing but disappointment.

If you simplify classes down to the weaponry of course it's going to be similar to other classes. But a class that uses a more medieval style of fighting, coupled with dark magic is completely different than a traditional samurai in my book.

A dps with a sword- katannas are awesome- eastern/anime thmees are always popular, and in ff tactics the samuari sword used different elemental katana spirits. I WOULD LOVE for that to be implemented and would make it a very interesting and unique job.

I almost forgot this. Between that and their signature ability to use weapon-skills in quick successions in FFXI, Samurai has a lot of potentiel to be a super cool job.
