If you honestly dont need mana until after Cascade, then that just shows you arnt healing as much as you should be and are getting carried hard by your scholar. Cant pull enmity when you arnt even healing.

But i digress. WHM and AST are different so thats not even relevant. Whm doesnt use cards every 15 seconds, that add hate, as do shuffle, royal road , spead, disable.

(WHM has a lot of enmity gen through the sheer amount of heals that can be put out in less than a GCD, even shroud doesn't usually help if you accidentally overheal)

Anyone who starts a comment with "Well on WHM I never have to..." is going to have their point disregarded.

Simply put, WHM and AST function entirely differently and one has a massive hate dump it can use if it's hate spikes. Astrologian does not have this hate dump, they have quelling, and all it takes is a few unlucky crits to kill that astrologian. As for the tanks, I can speak for her when I say I know they're using every one of their skills correctly to hold hate, the hate generation since the potency buff is simply absurd.

I'm all for buffing classes if they're struggling, but take in to consideration that the sheer boost in healing potency without a proper hate dump is an oversight. If anything, the quickest solution it to change Aether to follow the same mechanic as shroud, instant % hate dump vs the temporary hate reduction.

I feel sorry for your scholar, you're clearly not letting them play to their true potential if they have to carry your lack of heals. :<

Uh if you are low on mana on astro during casade or turn 3 regardless then you need to stop poping luminous aether when you're at 25% and do it when you're around 65-75%.

It's to PREVENT you from going low on mana not replenish when you are low.

I hate to join the chorus, but yeah, I've never once lost aggro to an Astrologian unless I was busy eating burritos when I should've been tanking. Now, those dirty Dragoons, Summoners and Black Mages are riding up my pantalooned butt crack all the time, but Astros? Noooo.

But it adds up. It still means i am gaining more hate than a whm would. Drawing a card and using it both give enmity.

You havent even done Alex normal so how can you know anything about the enmity problems that have started in a3s?

im actually using Aether before i even need it to reduce as much enmity as possible. Like i said, im not over healing. and my tank is fine.

Actually my tanks had issues keeping enmity off me in AS3 too.
I use LA to reduce my enmity in that fight and not to refresh my MP which is kind of silly lol. (Also to all the WHMs out there saying they don't have a problem... no kidding. Remember shroud is an enmity "dump" whereas LA is an enmity reduction for spells cast while under the effect.)
After adjustments from both myself and my tanks I no longer pull off them. I havent been in AS3 since the buffs though!

*EDIT* I also want to note this is the only fight in the game so far that ive encountered this problem.
