Favors were not fixed!

Reduced time investment means that more gatherers that balked at it before are going to give it a shot.

More gatherers using favors means that more material is going to make it to the marketplace.

More materials on the marketplace means that the prices will go down, and crafters will find buying materials to be more of an option.

For the entirely self-sufficient crafter who gathers it all herself and crafts it all herself, her per-week output has not changed. But even for her, she now only need to spend a third of the time gathering. That, all by itself, is pretty awesome, even if you discount the above points.

Sounds like an improvement to me. Time will tell.

question could I wear all SB gear minus main and offhand and still be able to effectively get favor mats? Does gp matter, gathering, perception etc? Sorry for the tangent but nomad mentioned it. I have just been hoarding.

You can do it in SB gear just fine (I SBed a lot of sets doing favors before this), just keep on all your lv60 gear with Gathering on it and the rest you can have SB stuff. You'll only have maybe 80% chance at the favor item but nothing a Field Mastery 2/3 won't fix.

As for the favors it's a massive QoL upgrade - 15 minutes was brutal. Unfortunately any node with +1/+2 items really cuts into the favor time, as does the greater proportion of time devoted to travelling between nodes and the favor node pops. Ideally they would add another minute to the five and it would feel a lot better if 18-20 items per set of 5 favors is their target.

I've used 14 favors so far today and managed to get 39 black swan feathers, 1 mute swan feather, 3 yellow roundstones, and 19 yellow ooids.

58 regular items for 70 minutes of gathering isn't bad at all compared to what we got before so I'm not complaining. It's an improvement for sure.

It was one of the bigger problems. But not the biggest problem. That would be the cap on crafting you can do in a week's time.

Making it faster will just make that problem more apparent for people that dont craft as much. As well as the time or gil spend to obtain the none-red scrip materials such as n'borne aethersand.
