Total TP is always 1000, so you can make a pretty good guess at the number based on the bar.

The problem is, to efficiently play a job and make the best use of a cooldown like Invigorate, or not bottoming out too far when mashing AoE skills on big pulls, you need to know your exact TP count.
I'm in a similar situation as OP where I disabled personal stat bar because it was redundant clutter (you had the access to the same information on the party list prior to 3.07), and now I'm stuck having to re-enable it off in the corner of my screen just to see one value.
I was under the impression silly things like this wouldn't be hindering the supported platforms that are capable of handling much more (the PC userbase), but I guess not.
You can thank the folks that still play on that toaster (ps3).
IMO, they should drop ps3 support ASAP, so they can finally bring QoL and UI elements up to this decade of minimal requirements.
