It's like talking to a crying brick wall.

But you cant. You have to take everything into consideration. SCH mana recovery might not be idiot proof, but it sure is a lot better than AST mp recovery. And if I "spam" adlo I'm going to have MP issues too. You people are acting like scholars don't have an mp bar or something, yeah we have good mp management, but it's not idiot proof.
The MP efficiency of astrologian has little to do with me. I can get everything I need to know from the potency changes.
I feel like an only slightly worse SCH instead of a massively worse SCH, but that might be because I'm also a L60 SCH. :P
Also, one of our regens was buffed while the other two were nerfed (which was understandable, but still).
I dual main SCH and AST. SCH is still better for:
-Sustained DPS (you can spec to have 6 friggin' DoTs...)
-AoE DPS (you can Bane 3 of those DoTs and two more are AoEs naturally)
-Emergency burst healing
-Damage reducing cooldowns (virus, E4E)
AST is ~90% of what a SCH can do, and the cards will on occasion make up for the missing 10%, while most times they won't. I just ran an ex where my deck was a goddamn limp noodle: Drew me constant spears and spires (while no one as having TP issues). Only put together expanded balance ONCE the entire dungeon...
Seriously, don't gripe. AST was a shadow of what it needed to be. It finally has some decent emergency healing power which is what it was really, REALLY lacking before, and it's mana management is still going to be a problem during emergency situations.

Haven't read the 16 pages here since I'm too busy at work, but just wanted to add my two cents:
At a glance, the AST changes feel way too much in the good direction that I feel it seriously disrupted the class balance. I will reserve my judgement until I'm at home to play with the changes and theorycraft it out some more in my head. These change are definitely going to rock the healer boat really hard though.
I don't understand why other healer mains don't think that this benefits them... we can be friends with benefics ya know what I'm sayin
Well it should go without saying WHM still has MND party bonus which of course benefits both healers, and it's pretty obvious where SE stands on this with the changes they gave AST in potencies in both stances. WHM oGCD heals, procs, reliable MP management, and higher potency regen tics are still their niche. We'll see though but in this age where dps is so needed to clear new contents, the balance card might make a difference between and a clear and a 1% wipe. Healing wise I do think AST is very close to WHM because of the potency buff. I'm trying to think what the whm could bring to the table that AST couldn't. Maybe free cure 2 or benediction? but then free cure 2 is just mana management and the AST has the ewer card for that.
AST changes are good in-which its a fair tradeoff for card RNG, and when it falls in your favor, it can be rewarding. Buff and lower cooldown on bread-and-butter skills like Synastry is totally where it needed to go.
isn't it a fact that:
Astro is, was and stays a "little brother" of the other two healers
But still has not the same strengh than these! And that's good! (why sould anyone play WHM/SCH anymore when AST can do everything exactly the same?)
WHM still is the most powerfull healer and SCH has its active Damage support!
so AST became a worthful supplement now, who can support the other classes with its cards, but still stays "the little brother" of each
Community threw ASTs out of Raids because he was UP!
And now....as he catches up to the other healers....there are some that feel attacked in their strenght and role!!!!
Yes....Astro has now some skills that are stunning! But so do the other healers!
That is just resentment....not more!!!!!
WHM and SCH are still powerfull! And ASTs are still not better than these...but equal! And this is how it should be!
so play your class you are fine with! If you feel to change to Astrologian.....feel free! But don't think you will be better than the Healer you already play!
because you will not be!
btw.....always run for the "best class" and always change classes just because you think this might be better is just lol!

Synastry buffs healing by 20%, Marks a party member to receive 40% of all your heals and therefore is healed an additional 40% when you single target heal them and has a cool down of 90 seconds.
...
Dissipation gives you 3 Aetherflow stacks, sacks your fairy, and increases your healing by 20% to compensate with an anti-fairy resummon timer of 30 seconds and a recast of 180.
...
What are both of these skills meant to do? Increase your healing output to stop what could have been a wipe. Which skill seems to have gotten all the love and none of the trade-off?
O.o
They really should look into the 60 SCH skill. It's a neat idea poor execution.
Dissipation lowers your healing actually. It also costs a "TON" of mana.Synastry buffs healing by 20%, Marks a party member to receive 40% of all your heals and therefore is healed an additional 40% when you single target heal them and has a cool down of 90 seconds.
