This is my current belief as well. If this is indeed true then we may get a proper rematch with Diabolos as a 24-man raid.

For my two cents, I think it's more likely we'll see Diabolos again in a Lost City hard mode. We're getting a hard mode of Pharos; it stands to reason that the "new", non-hard mode dungeons from the 2.x patches are going to be the new hard modes now.

Also very possible, I agree.
From what we know of the Mhachi though it was almost certainly they that summoned Diabolos from the void and unleashed him upon Amdapor, so if the Void Ark is related to them we may discover his origins there at the least. Of course that all depends on if the Void Ark is a Mhachi ship.

I don't think Voidsent can even stay dead. We defeat them, they go back to the void and then return whenever something allows them. Lady Amandine, for example, returned to Haukke Manor (Hard), despite being defeated back in story mode. Ferdiad's implied return is probably because we never disrupted the ritual site(?). The ritual was already made and the blood was already spilled, so the portal is probably still open.
Cloud of Darkness is another example.
