With the personal cooldowns, in 1 hour, you can mine 24 darksteel ore max.
The diference is that you choose when in that hour.

Now, if im understanding this right, there are yes, particular nodes that spawn at similar or same times as others, forcing a selection between nodes. For this, is just as simple as adding a "despawn" once one node is mined, this way, if you for example, mine adamantite, after you finish, you also spent your node on other spawn item of the same tier, this way, to solve those little diferences. Which actually, are exploted by the very minimal few speed hackers that can travers maps and warps fast enough to mine diferent nodes in a timegate of just 2 minutes where a regular player usually can`t.

Contested? Everyone can go and farm whatever node they want when the time is right, no one "fights" for nodes. No one can farm more from a single node than anyone else. 1 node = X amount of mats. That will left unchanged.

Your hacking, boting and multiaccount/character examples are way off, anyone doing that, for personal use or profit, is an exception which has no value against the game experience of the vast mayority of the playerbase. Besides, players that do profit hard from this system right now, already multi-account, so, if the actual system we have right now had the porpuse to "enforce scarcity" the players who want to, are already overcoming it. While, the rest, has to suffer a very badly thought gathering system that has 0 flexibility.
