Uh...didnt we learn Iceheart's real name was Ysayle in 2.4 or 2.5? I know it was before the expansion, just can't remember exactly when.

It's actually a spoiler...
I guess I should rephrase it since everything is taken so literally and seriously here.
"I dislike Dragonsong. I would prefer that they play Answers again at this year's event."
There's certainly parts of it you should be careful of, and yes, it's because there are new players around. For example, I wouldn't mention what you find when you return from fighting Titan at level 34 without putting it in a spoiler hidden box. On the other hand I have no problem mentioning that you do fight Titan at level 34. Fighting him is expected. What you find on your return is not. The later is a plot twist. That's what makes the distinction of whether spoiler tags are needed, not how long the content has been around.

It's not really "a rather large spoiler" considering all of Heavensward centers around Ishgard.
And the fact that they've stated on these forums that they plan to add housing in Ishgard.
Kinda tells you already that they are going to be joining the Alliance.
It's going on 3 months since Heavensward came out, I think it's safe to talk about some points of the story,
especially something we kind of already knew was going to happen. >_>
I haven't gotten that far in the story. Imo that was a pretty big spoiler. Aymeric is a complicated character and a central character. Knowing his fate now takes the wind out of the sails of any suspense regarding his motives and where he eventually ends up when all is said and done. It's not really "a rather large spoiler" considering all of Heavensward centers around Ishgard.

The expansion has been out for two months, the game has been out for two years. Regardless of time you guys should respect new players, and those who simply have not had the opportunity to complete the MSQ by at the very least applying spoiler tags to conversation regarding the MSQ. It doesn't take that long.
I don't understand why you wouldn't want others to reach the same surprises and moments and feel the same way you did when you played it unspoiled. It's not that hard to just respect your fellow players' experience.
whoa, I used a spoiler tag. It took two seconds.
Because to expect people to use spoiler tags, or give a crap about spoilers, in the general discussion forum of a video game where people are going to *gasp* discuss the game, 3 months after it's launched, is stupid.
if you really were bent over finding spoilers, stay off the forums entirely, or level faster so you see it and don't have to complain.
But that's exactly where spoiler warnings are needed. Spoiler tags exist for forums discussing the topics the spoilers are about. People not playing the game couldn't care less about spoilers, but in a forum about the game, you need to warn people of them. In some cases, it might be obvious just by the topic, but this topic (before getting derailed into a discussion of spoilers) was about a seasonal event for level 15 ARR characters. There is absolutely no assumption from that that it would mean having completed the entire HW questline.
(I'm making a guess about the level 15 part, but it's an educated guess based on previous data. It was a level 15 event last year.)

You're right, it's my fault that I had a significant part of the story spoiled for me by another player in a thread for a upcoming in-game event that is completely unrelated to the main story quest.
Shame on me for pointing out their inconsideration. I should just shut my mouth and leave because that person is allowed to be as inconsiderate as they like! Who am I - the person who was negatively affected by their inconsideration - to point that out.
The gods forbid a person be criticized for not considering how their words might affect others.
READ:
Yes, I do expect people to use spoiler tags in threads that are not all ready tagged "SPOILERS" in the OP, when it comes to discussing main story elements. It isn't difficult, and you can still carry on your conversation without negatively affecting your fellow players' experience. We're a community, we should give a shit about how other people in our community feel because that is how healthy communities sustain themselves.
tl;dr don't be a dick and if you accidentally slip up and people call you on it then learn from it instead of telling people to shut up and sit down. Basic rules for being a decent human being.
