Idk, I rarely ever get called a terrible player. Like, ever.
I usually get told I do very well.
Perhaps you are actually a terrible player :0

Maybe I am, but I feel like I'm doing my best and I can't do anymore than that. If that's an issue then should I quit playing? Free up server space for a better player?
Come on man, it's posts like these that undermine the spirit of a good community.
I don't know whether you're good or bad, but I do not believe that line specifically. You can't do better than your best at a given time, but your best tomorrow can be better than your best today. You can continue improving. Don't use "oh well guess I'm bad" as an excuse for complacency. Even the best players have room to improve, but only do so by actually putting forth the effort.
If you care about your play enough to be better, then you can be. If you don't care enough about it then that's fine too. It's just a game after all. But don't pretend you've hit your ceiling. You haven't.
When in doubt, assume sarcasm
To that I agree, however no one should be forced to play to a point where it stresses them out. Even if they do, in the eyes of many players they will never be good enough. For example you can get better at prediction but a lot of people just have naturally slower response to things. That is not their fault and they shouldn't be blamed for it.I don't know whether you're good or bad, but I do not believe that line specifically. That's totally their fault. Doesn't mean you need to stress yourself out about it, but if you don't dodge an aoe, who else's fault would it be? Sometimes people fuck up. Whatever. No need to kick yourself over it, but to say it's just not your fault is a bit dishonest.
And I've said this in other threads, but I'll say it again: yes you will meet a few jerks. There are millions of accounts. It's statistically impossible for there not to be jerks at this point. But if you're actually putting forth effort, then like 99% of the people in this game are fine with you. It's really not hard to meet the bare minimums required to not hold people back (outside of savage, but that's wholly a different thing). People are more impressed by a 1200dps drg than a 900 dps drg, but the only one they're particularly annoyed by is the 450dps drg.

I ran one of the new later heavensward dungeons the other night as a BRD and things were going swell up until we got to the last boss. We wiped once because the tank DC’d at a bad time and we moved past that…then we wiped again and the healer started mouthing off about how the dragoon had stepped on a bomb. We wipe again and the dragoon starts getting bitchy about how things were going too slow blah blah blah. We wipe. Again – because the dragoon left me to the spawning adds and I just couldn’t take them all down.
This time we wait a second to go over the details of the fight – the healer and dragoon are still being standoffish and the tank and I just want to get out of there asap. We go in and the fight goes good until about ¾ of the way in. I use our LB to take out the row of adds (the dragoon wasn’t bothering) and the healer FREAKED out. Me and the tank stay silent and focused and we actually finish the fight! It didn’t stop there though :/ Before the healer and dragoon left though, they threw out parting insults like “you f*cking idiot noobs” to me and the tank.
I haven't done ex-roulette since.
In general, if you're trying to play your job well and fill your role in a party, you don't have to worry about being told you're bad, unlike the OP claims. So don't let the OP discourage you.
Also, if you do some research on your job, know your rotations and abilities and practice using them correctly, even if you would get told you're terrible, you would know where you stand.
Ignore the rudeness or stand up to it (just try to not fall to the same level), but learn to recognise valid critisism and learn from it.
