except that repair materials are sold by npcs meaning that they have a capped price.... and it slike 5000 for the max one which is nothing. You can make a mil in a day or 2 meaning if you spend 1-2 days you can get 200 repairs paying the -max- for your repair mats. There is nothing wrong with altering a craft system to make it smart and efficient enough for all other people wanting to engage in crafting. Have one main craft to make all repairs for self is efficient. It wouldn't hurt the economy in any way if you're doing your own repairs, so what argument do you have that supports this claim? Matter repair materials will always fluctuate depending on the availability of who's selling it and what retainer is selling it, thus explains my supported theory less population = less needed materials for repairs, creation, or skill up.

No thanks. Buying dark matter from NPC is good. It is removing money from broken economy. Perhaps it would help educate the players as to how exactly are you making that amount? There are others with a multiple crafts capped meaning already making more gil than a person like me with half of the craft being done from cap. I make roughly 1mil at the end of the week selling crafting materials (hqs even) from leve quests/SP parties.
Unless... Are you fishing?

look at my past posts. specificially my "guide to boting" on how to make money doing botany. Or just look at what sells at a high price and farm it.... not rocket sciencePerhaps it would help educate the players as to how exactly are you making that amount? I did like the idea of scrapping it, before the tweaks.. But now I consider it pretty tolerable. The break rate is much less, as I don't find my weapon breaking every few mins as a healer... And the universal repair mats are REALLY damn nice to have, because carrying 20 mats around so I'm able to repair anything for anyone as far as my crafts allow was a huge pain before.
There is still one thing I wouldn't mind seeing added though. I pitched the idea way back in beta, but I don't think the old team was paying much attention at the time...
Anyway, the thing I'd like to see tie the repair system together, is portable repair kits, that would be made by crafters, stackable, and able to universally repair any item of that craft and grade of dark matter. i.e., grade 1 cloth repair kit, grade 2 carpentry repair kit, etc.
To stem them from taking over repairs altogether, you could make them more expensive to make. Like, have the recipe require an empty repair kit sold by npc's for idk, 5k or so... a fairly steep shard/crystal cost, though probably crystals to give them more of a use beyond shard bots eatting them... And of course, the dark matter and a crafter to synth it, with the kits being slightly higher level than the repair, and maybe some method to stop people from skilling up on them.
Anyways, point is, problem solved. If you really need a portable repair kit, and don't mind paying 2-3 times the normal repair cost, you can get one. If you want a 100% repair, and simply can't find a crafter anywhere around.... You can get one. If you're gonna do a lot of crafting in the other cities where it's even harder to find people, well, no fear of repairs because you can bring a friggen kit! XD
If that's totally out of the question... Then it would at least be nice if repairs didn't eat up 2 bazaar slots per, and if you didn't have to unequip things to repair them. That just makes it a pain in the ass that it doesn't need to be... The NPC can repair it while you wear it.... Why can't MUCH more skilled player crafters? Are they not clever enough to figure that out? Is there some kind of 'off-limits' zone regarding personal space? Is the repair NPC teh haxors? Because that's not at all fair >![]()
I am going to assume you are one of these tight mofos who put their repairs up for either lower than matter price or the exact same price, when you should offer more to pay for toe crafters help.
In all my time playing I've never once not been able to repair my gear and i do it the exact same way (excluding armourer as i cant do that myself).
I put the 5 items up at a generous price, usually 10k an item and it gets repaired in minutes when standing around repair npc.
Repairs provide crafters with free SP, and sometimes just easy income. if your not a crafter and need repairs jsut leave yoru char on over night seeking repairs near the repair npc in ul'dah and chances are you'll get themor just take all your jobs up to 38+. repairs aren't that bad they are cheap and provide extra reason to level crafts
also if you put up the dark matter as your offer item for repair normally you will get repair faster, people are lazy and hate buying it themselves they dont wanna use their ownhehe
WTF! you are very generous! I just offer 5k for G5 Dark MatterI am going to assume you are one of these tight mofos who put their repairs up for either lower than matter price or the exact same price, when you should offer more to pay for toe crafters help.
