I thought Nael was still alive.

Races in Eorzea don't have too many differences between each other. I've even heard the theory that the "enlightened races" are all one species (kind of like how all dogs are one species, but you wouldn't know it comparing a Great Dane and a Chihuahua), but so far as I know that's yet to be proven. The chief difference between a Hyur and a Miqo'te are the shape of their ears and a tail, otherwise they mostly look the same. Likewise the chief difference between a Garlean and a Hyur is their third "eye". Otherwise, they can mostly pass for each other.
A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.
Nael was the legate of the 7th Legion, who was killed by players at the end of 1.0. He/she(Nael's original gender is muddy territory) was briefly brought back as the boss of Turn 9 after being reconstructed by Bahamut, and was killed again.
With those statistics, the graph is saying that Hyur is more popular than Miq'ote...Not according to stats released by SE.

Granted, these aren't very recent graphs, but Hyur does appeal to a lot of players.
Now that I think about it, I'm going to blame RMT for the reason why Midlander Hyur is so popular.

They probably did something to filter out some rmt, since we don't see a disproportionately large amount of blms on those graphs. (Bots are like 99% blm because infinite mp)
Boo, you forgot livia sas junius, rytyahtyn(sp?) sas Arvina, oboro's teacher...
There does seem to be a lack of miqote and(for now) au ra villains.
Miqo'te is probably the closest to Hyur out of the races. Even then, their faces look quite a bit different, along with their ears and tail, that sets them apart further than the third eye. They're also classified as different races by SE, while the Garleans don't seem to be from what I can recall.Races in Eorzea don't have too many differences between each other.
