I play tour guide for newbies because I want their commendations. Little bastards give them to the healer anyway. (>.< )

I watch video guides for every dungeon and trial, suffering spoilers along the way because as a tank, I need to be prepared for everything. It kind of annoys me that dps players can't be bothered to do the same, and need me to cliffnote it for them every damn time, especially since they don't listen to directions anyway.

    This again.......

TBH, it should be up to any player to read a guide or watch a video of the dungeon first to see what they are up against. Just blindly que'ing for something you just unlocked right away without taking the time to watch a little video or guide is wasting everybody else's time because they have to sit there and type everything out about the fights, etc, just for you, because you were lazy.

You seem to also ignore the fact the OP left out some vitally important info that would allow one to give a more accurate assessment of this thread.

Now we are off subject when it comes to high end raids, but generally yes the consensus is that you should have at least watched a video (anyone remember coils?!). I think the OP should post the vitally important info he is missing in his original post. I still have little sympathy because waaah I don't want to explain the fight in a more meaningful way then do this, do this, do this, pull. There is plenty of time to explain that fight for whoever may not know.

Since every mmorpg ever. If you want to tank then you have to get used to being the leader. If you don't, well people just won't like you as a tank. That is just another reason good tanks are few and far between.

I always play tanks in MMOs and have rarely seen such stupidity such as expecting someone to spend their time teaching easy classes/jobs how to do dungeons.

Teaching mechanics isn't base on what job/class you are....its based on the players experience of said mechanics and their willingness to explain it to others.

If you all really feel that every tank should be a master of all dungeons/raids then the devs need to make tanks a special job/class that gets more incentives for putting up with lazy players who don't contribute.

    Pfffft. "The community."

The community says: Tanks are the leaders of the group, so we should listen to them.

Tanks act like leaders. New threads are launched declaring that tanks are power tripping ego maniacs.

The community says: "There aren't enough tanks in duty finder."

People new to tanking decide to give it a try and are promptly torn down and humiliated by impatient and unpleasant groups who don't like letting people learn. Most of the newbies quit, and the ones that remain get REAL MEAN. New threads are launched promptly declaring that tanks are meanie jerk head nasties, waaah.

The community is your hot girlfriend who invites you over when her parents are out of town, so you can have a prayer session. The community is chaotic neutral and will kill your brain cells faster than a paint stripper martini.

That's actually why they're the best raid leaders, they pay attention to every mechanic and know it all by heart. I call out everything in my raid group and I play WAR lol

    .
I gave a quick once over, and the only question I noted you asking about the other tank. He was a silent, level-synced Dark Knight. What else would you like to know?

My issue isn't "someone asked for help" my issue is I caught crap for not explaining to someones liking. As a tank, it I do not feel it is my job to explain everything. I WILL IF I CAN. But if someone doesn't think my explanation is good enough, why would they not offer their own, or correct my error, rather then tell me to "Explain it right because you are the tank"? I like to tank. I am not great at explaining content. So what?
