I'll trade another dungeon for a new form of content any day.

he want see more challange to players not less look how wow did it they never push players to challange them more
No community is never happy no matter what a game does. But being "moderate" usually helps it a lot. And sometimes the community send very clear messages... FFXIV lacks moderation in many areas, which leads to people to voice the extreme positions more often, which makes it look like a community of people that is never happy way too often...
Quite possibly but isn't the dev team's call. All they can do is decide on what to spend the resources they have allocated to them on. They have a lot of stuff they are trying to develop. We have the GC unit stuff, Gold Saucer stuff, the raids, the Airship content (FC group content is seriously under represented in the game), Dungeons, Raids, and of course more MSQ and side story content. Plus who knows what else. They also have to develop enough content to satisfy a player base with very broad tastes. Then there is the fact that they will have already started on development of the next expac and any future features they want to add there.
With all those things to spread resources across added resources are bound to be spread rather widely. This is unavoidable simply by virtue that the nature of MMOs, diverse playerbase tastes and the fact that resources aren't things simply saved up or added in chunks since we are talking about people who would needed to be integrated into the current team and development system.
Yoshida stated that in place of making a 3rd dungeon every patch they were going to release a new type of content to add variety. Then again I guess people will cherry pick and bitch about the game no matter what. The FC Airship quests is the first of this new dev plan.
It's a cycle that will never end. BUT, when given insight like interviews and live-letters that give us a vector as to where the development team is heading...it's not unreasonable to actually talk about future updates/changes. The whole idea of going from 3 to 2 dungeons is to increase the overall quality and diversity...do you feel like 3.0 ex roulette is accomplishing this? I don't, and while I'm looking forward to new types of content...I'm also getting really, really bored of 2 dungeons that I really have no reason to do.
Until they implement the new relic quest line...there is no REASON to do anything but end-game stuff. Cap tomes, meh, next patch they will most likely have us (relic or not) doing something with the 50+ dungeons (and will most certainly have to do them for the relic).
I'm well aware it's not the devs team's decision, but as they've said dungeons are cheap and easy to develop (quote from Yoshida). Is spending that little extra money to guarantee the player base too much to ask for? Yes they'll need to be trained and integrated into the team, but in the long run I think it's worth it.
I just really don't want a repeat of WoW. The dungeons in Wrath were downright amazing, visually interesting, interesting fights etc. and soon after they switched their focus. They barely get any dungeons at the start of the expac to begin with, not to mention the lack of them in content patches. Where were those resources likely placed? Garrisons, everyone loves those.
If whatever they're replacing the content with is different, interesting and fun but also appeals to the same type of player I'm fine with it. Otherwise they're taking away content and replacing it with something the majority of the playerbase don't care about, or can't access (FC airship content for almost every smaller FC that's been made in the past few months due to the lack of housing).
And for those going "nobody's ever happy", why do you think the forums exist? To discuss current and future content. Without feedback we'd all be stuck in the 1.0 era. Learn to deal with feedback, or don't respond to it with that. Players are allowed to express their discontent.

2 New Dungeons... yeh Terrible idea.
I'm not impressed by them investing further dev time into content that hardly anyone will get to enjoy.Yoshida stated that in place of making a 3rd dungeon every patch they were going to release a new type of content to add variety. Then again I guess people will cherry pick and bitch about the game no matter what. The FC Airship quests is the first of this new dev plan.
