As for what's stopping me from learning it: the group chose to disband rather than make any effort at coordination, with people making snide accusations of not knowing the fight instead of trying to fix the specific problem point. But this would never have been an issue had they not gated the entire story behind a hardcore raid in the first place, or at least not design this fight around unforgiving team jump rope mechanics.
That's because they're not supposed to overlap? It's punishment for failure to adhere to mechanics because people would ignore if it were not so. Make a learning party. If you want instant gratification, well, there's always youtube for that.

T9 is far from hardcore. You're the only one labeling it as that, I might add, and if someone says that the fight is not so bad and explains how very simple it is to complete these mechanics, then they're apparently an elitist.

There's absolutely no discussion to be had if you keep labeling content and people with terms of your choosing all while complaining while you could be practicing.

Pretty sure any more mechanics removed and it couldn't be called a raid anymore. Also the fact that you think that doing more damage means you should pass a raid is quite confusing in itself. Do you think that raids are just dps checks?
Yep! Look around these forums where all complaints are about DPS not meeting checks.

What's the difference? It's an ability or mechanic that one-shots you if you don't execute it correctly.

Or maybe the difficulty of that mechanic is unreasonable for what what is now essentially a story mode fight? Why are people so defensive at the thought if T9 being turned into casual story mode like Alexander Normal?

A3 Normal has a tether that will one-shot pretty much anyone but a tank.

I guess they should nerf that too.

It doesn't kill the entire party, so it's not quite the same, since you can recover from it as long as everyone else isn't braindead.

How can can you recover from a mechanic that instantly kills everyone and forces ou to start all over from the beginning?

    Hint: by performing it correctly

Alright, maybe the adds are a better example. If they aren't killed quickly enough, they explode and give vulnerability stacks to the entire party. The next time the boss spams his raid-wide AoE's everyone dies.

There are some things that just aren't recoverable. You hitch up your big-boy pants, start over, and do it right.

I still think this particular mechanic should be nerfed to make the story mode less restrictive, given how sudden meteors are compared to the gear slimes. I should note that in some Gamescom interviews, Yoshi-P expressed an interesting more people doing the story.

The meteors aren't sudden at all though
