AST has never been in a world first anything.So, I really thought some of the hate would die down after an astro was in SOME of the WORLD first alex savage clears. But that did nothing sadly. I still get told quite often everywhere that AST is a "bad" class. That I shouldn't run Alex savage as an ast because I won't be able to keep up with the damage etc.
Personally, my only complaint is the lack of reliable MP recovery. So having to hold any ewer cards I get can be a tad irritating. Aside from that, between time dilation, Collective unconscious, and Celestial opposition I think ast is a bit OP to be fair. Sure, I can't toss around 14k heals like a whm, but I can still heal none the less.
The class is NOT bad. But it seems like a decent percentage of the players who play it are. For the ones who are geared at 60, and still "hate" astro.....do me a favour. GTFO my class. You give me a bad rep.

lmao i think its funny that the cards rotate around our weapon but we cant pick it manually. On that note, give us a gambler class aka "setzer" roll dice and slot machine for dps LoLThe RNG is thematic with the job, though. If tarot readers picked the cards themselves, it wouldn't be much of a fortune, would it?

Fun to troll your friends, but not for a mmo class. I hope they come up with something more creative to fix the rng problem than just removing the rng.

it has no stabilization when it comes to healing. You are either fully topped off or spamming benefic 2 to keep the tank alive. I'm starting why they have tools that decrease cast times. It's like they knew it was going to be hard to heal but hoped that the cards support would balance it out. IMO it doesn't, especially with SE's famous RNG.
If there was one thing I would change is that cards that are in your spread cannot be drawn. It would effectively increase your odds of drawing the card you want to 20%. I know this can and will be abused but it just doesn't make sense to me from a card playing stand point. If you remove a card from a deck of 6 that deck would effectively be a deck 5 right?
But the heals are definitely weak compared to the other healers. A 10-20 potency bump might be enough in most cases. I would however opt to reduce Lightspeed to 120 seconds. WHM has Divine Seal at 60 for those "we need heals NEOW" moments. Lightspeed is the AST's answer to that but the cd is just too long to be of any use.
oh, i see what you mean. true, unless CO can stun bosses, its pretty shitty. 5 secs is nothing, and to make the most of it you'd have to have extended royal road.

Ugh. My Warrior tank gets the nastiest string of crits I've ever seen in my entire gaming career. He gets crit like 100% more often than any other tank I've healed, and seeing him drop from 100% to 8%~10% scares the hell out of me.
It seems the majority of people who "love AST" but think it doesn't need any fixes probably just don't realize how much they are being carried by their co-healers or aren't running anything that difficult yet. Personally, I'd be happy to pick up my AST again if they just set shuffle to a 2-3 sec cd. Sometimes you would get the card you want off the bat, other times you would have to sit there and dig but you wouldn't feel so cheated by long chains of bad RNG.
A potency buff is not the way to improve the astrologian. Lightspeed also does not improve the heal speed of the astrologian heal beyond the first heal. If lightspeed would reduce the GCD for astro's 1 second or so then yes it would be a potent healing increase ability. IMO Celestial Opp needs to copy Assize. Keep the current effects but add 10% mp and lower the cooldown.
