Now there is an idea. They also didn't think of putting the brakes on the release of this thing, so it may not be that unsurprising that they haven't thought of a lot of other obvious things.

Actually if all the "event team" can do is "events" then I suggest downsizing them, and replacing them with people who can instead fix core issues with the game.

And as I have said before, if you have any understanding of at all of how Corporate Enterprise project management works, then you realize that resources are finite. Period. Projects have a defined scope. Estimated cost, and so forth. That said, every "resource" that is working on these events, is a resource that is not working on fixing the game. So the old "separate team doing x" is just a drain on finite resources that could be doing y.

Let's not derail this thread with SE and Yoshi P fanboyism, can do no wrong, everything is okay, I drank the kool-aid nonsense please.

i have to agree with this. you do have a point. i myself have worked with large corporations and when things go wrong they pull from other teams, even if that means a foreman being a programmers go-for boy as long as that programmer is at his desk at all times (as a general point).

yeah the overall look of the game is sub-par to most other MMOs that are coming out but id imagine if this game stays around long enough then we will get our visual perks.
i for one believe visual perks are partly what sell a game so yeah id kinda say visual effects from character draw distance to god rays to magic/abilities is also one of the core issues.

Actually in hindsight, I will just agree with you. I am arrogant. After reading through the responses to this thread I have every reason to be. Most people are walking around with blinders on.
