This thread has become saltier than the Dead Sea.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.

Wrong. There have been plenty of Kickstarter exclusives that later get opened up to a wider audience after the company asks their original backers and, almost every time, the backers say, "Yeah, go ahead, make this available to everybody. We support you!" There's no loss of trust and no drama, just mature adults supporting a company they love. It's unfortunate the "support" many legacy players like to lord over others doesn't extend past hoarding exclusive digital goodies for themselves.

I played the game without joining the forums. You're a legacy on a different account yes? Because you're join date says different.
Join date: Aug 2013. Thats ARR release. So different account then? Or just a veiled "I deserve stuff that happened before I joined" ?
Be subscribed for a minimum of 90 days before the cut off date for Chocobo, Name, Sub decrease, early access. Tattoo was pretty much any character created during 1.0
And yet there are just as many companies that have done limited time promotions whether they be physical goods or digital, with plenty of consumers willing to respect their decision to do as such with the understanding that those goods would never be available again in the future.Wrong. They don't turn around and cry out at the people who were able to participate in those events or buy those goods by calling them names or insinuating that they're special snowflakes for having done so when they're reminded of the fact that the promotions were limited time only.
This isn't new or exclusive to SE, merchants have been doing this since the concept of trade, yet reading this thread and seeing players acting like they are specifically being punished is mind boggling.
It was for a limited time event and is no longer available, there are plenty of people wish to see it remain as such simply for no reason other than it was stated as being so

I wonder why people don't whine about;
Garlond Goggles
Hermes Sandals
1.0 Goobbue Mount
Dalamud Horn
Diety Rings
Or is it just the Legacy tattoo is pretty shiny and you can't stand not having it? >: (

But you can't get any of those things, I'm not sure what point you just made.
Going to go with the last one, as there have been many topics and posts with people whining and not being able to stand they can't have everything. This one is no different.

I don't have Legacy status, and it would be a nice thing to have, but... this should remain exclusive to 1.0 people.

Don't forget the White Ravens or the Onion Doublet(or the rest of the 1.0 Onion items).
Also I think you missed the 1.0 Gobbue v Sylph Gobbue threads that came about when the beastman dailies started...
Actually, I'm pretty sure that IS the point. It's part of the "1.0 Legacy", which DOES include the "Legacy"/Meteor Survivor Tattoo

With the exception of the 1.0 Goobue mount I think many people (me included) believe that many of that will eventually make it, either in cash shop like the moonlet ring, Moogle quests like the star spangled subligar and through other means like Gold Saucer or maybe other sidequests
