this is the same as the Legacy chocobo, the gobbue, or the horn. You will not get it, they are belong to legacy only, ask for something else, something new instead of ask for the thing you can't getWhy do I not deserve it, because I did not know about the game during 1.0? That hardly seems fair. I am willing to dish out money for it now, and have spent quite a lot of time and effort on a game that I really like.
There are people that have/are eligible for it who never really even had interest in FFXIV 1.0 or 2.0, and probably never even subbed to either. I would really like to have my character be one from the Carteneau battle, it is a much more interesting story.
It is not the same as the mounts, no. The mounts and horn actually required you to play the game a significant amount. The tattoo could literally be by a level 1 that someone created during the time period then never came back to again. It means nothing other than you were 'in' on knowing about 1.0 and poked it at the right time.
I ll say it again, you will not get it. The legacy tatoo is the mark the character play at that period, if you are not play at that period, why do you want the mark to say you have the same status as ppl with legacy tatoo ?It is not the same as the mounts, no. Because the story is cooler and me having it or not will literally not affect your gameplay in anyway, but make me happier with a more immersive storyline.
If you wernt there you didnt get this once in a lifetime item as a thank you for supporting the game its really that simple.
Yet for some reason people cant grasp that and is now demanding it to be put on the cashshop like some average joe item.
I dont have the tatoo and i reject putting it there.
And not knowing the game existed is not an excuse cause there would have been plenty of websites listing 1.0 as a mmo.
If you read above it literally did not mean that you supported the game. It meant that you /logged in/ during a specific time period. Nothing more. You could have logged in during the free period to get it for free. No support needed, just downloading it. Launching it. Making a character. Closing it. The end. Tattoo get.
Still they were there and you wernt, stop beeing so butthurt that u cant get this exclusive item.If you read above it literally did not mean that you supported the game. And as you so fancy put it that "it wont affect their gameplay if you have it" then in the same way it wont affect your gameplay if you DONT have it.
The same could be said about event items, and even housing. Yet the event items will be put in the cash shop, and there will be more housing wards in the future.
Technically the carteneau tattoo was from an event. It signified nothing else other than one logged into the game at a certain time (like the current event cash shop items).
There is no big separator there other than this event happened a long time ago, before most of the current playerbase played the game.
it does not make me happy when ppl have the same thing as I do, when I were there and they are not, in a way it does effect my gameplay and effect my trust to SE if they sell that tatoo on mog station too
You have that regardless of any tattoo. The few NPCs (Cid and the Wandering Minstrel at least, possibly others) who didn't completely lose their memory of the Warriors of Light who fought there will recognize your character from that time. Some players got to play through that section of the story and the rest of us just got it as backstory, but our characters were there regardless.
The tattoo, as well as the special chocobo, are thank you gifts from SE to the players who were around during 1.0. There may be little tidbits of lore explaining them (I know there is for the chocobo, anyway), but it's not like the overall story changes for not having that little tidbit.
