Can we just start treating Skizzle like a troll yet?

He makes a new thread every couple of days, always complaining about FFXIV because the endgame is so easy and leveling is so simple, etc. etc. Sometimes he threatens to leave the game, others he tries to play to a group mentality that doesn't exist. He makes claims about raiding despite having cleared nothing of note and almost all of his evidence is based entirely around having 100% nostalgia-gasms for the glory days of FFXI.

Hell, this time he didn't even bother to write the opening post himself, but instead a member of his own FC made a blog post that he used as the powder keg he needed to ignite a 10 page thread. As it turns out, his friend shares vastly similar/identical views as Skizzle himself... shocking. He then was completely silent to the fact that he was already acquainted with the person who made the blog post, acting aloof enough as try to draw implications that there are actually a lot of people out there who agree with his ranting.

At this rate by next week, after undoubtedly no less than 3 more threads espousing the same nonsense ("Why I'm going to quit for FFXI!", "My friend who I've never met agrees with me about FFXI", and "Give me reasons to keep playing... FFXI" - Please look forward to them), I'm actually going to be pining for the days of Akiza's SMN threads.

Also, his self given title in his FC is TROLOLOL Master... just let that sink in when replying to a Skizzle thread.

I get that point. Sure noone runs CT anymore... but really thats cause its now completely unnecessary.

I'm talking waiting for 2 hours just wanting to get some exp. Ive never waited that long in this game. You can exp in as little as 5 minutes. Now there are some rare occasions ive waited an hour for an exp party. That is still much faster than alot of the exp parties that I had to deal with in XI. 1 hour to get people together, 30 minutes to get everyone to the zone, someone missed the boat, etc, etc.

I think there is a rose colored view of XI. At the end of the day they are completely different types of games. XI was more of a sandbox MMO with lateral gear shifts and builds. XIV is nothing like that is much more convenient and new player friendly.

It was very easy to do a search, find people looking for a party, send a /tell and get people together. You could have a group together in as little as 5-10 minutes, if everything fell into place. I saw it happen plenty of times.

Incidentally... it's the same thing with Duty Finder. Duty finder does nothing but automate that process so people don't have to do it themselves.

It's not even remotely the same. FFXI's party formation was much more akin to Party Finder than it is to Duty Finder.

If you were, say, a Puppetmaster in FFXI, and there was any other DD job seeking, they were going to get the invite over you every single time. It wouldn't matter if you'd had a flag up for 3 minutes or 3 days.

Duty Finder cannot discriminate in that manner. No matter what job you're on (or even if you're queuing without a job, just as a base class), when it's your turn, that queue is going to pop for you.

Queue times are about 30 minutes during high time for DD, so that isn't too bad considering the past queue times people had. Labyrinth of the Ancients is the hardest to get into due to tank requirements, though. Not that I think any queue time greater than 5 minutes are a good thing.

I stopped reading when he suggested and expected there for to be default voice chat. Not only do I disagree with him, but I think from what I have read everything he has said is way off. It sounds like his wife is more into solo games.
