Outside of large boss FATEs, FF14 does not have any current content raids anyway (raid content as opposed to single group content, as commonly defined by the number of groups required to do said content).
Um under duty finder menu Alexander is classified as a "Raids(Heavens ward)", Where things like Bismark are Classified in game terms as "Trials", So I apologize If I miss understood you, but I was using the terminology that has come built into the game and not terminology that extends from other sources (like games that have come before FFXIV).
SE does not use the term "raid" as it is used in other MMO's. Raids are purely large scale events; difficulty is irrelevant. They are multiple group events, that are (when introduced) are too big for a single group to handle.Um under duty finder menu Alexander is classified as a "Raids(Heavens ward)", Where things like Bismark are Classified in game terms as "Trials", So I apologize If I miss understood you, but I was using the terminology that has come built into the game and not terminology that extends from other sources (like games that have come before FFXIV).
Now, if SE wants to call 8 man content "raid", then ALL 8 man content is raid content, not just the little bits they have *cherry picked* to call raids. That includes all 8 man trials, Castrum and Praetorium, as well as Coil and Alexander content. Consistency is vital. Number of attendees is the only determining factor. There are easy raids and hard raids; but what makes it a raid vs single group content is having multiple groups.
I use common English. I don't use jargon that may have meaning to one person if they are "in the know" and not to another (such as, for example, the word "salty" - trust me, a "salty sea dog" is NOT crying). That includes using common terms as they apply to MMO's, such as raid content and group content.

I've seen raids that were just one boss fight, and I've seen raids that were dungeon clears with several events scattered around.
The number of events in the instance, and the difficulty of those events, had nothing to do with them being raids. They were raids because they were not one group or solo events when current content. They were raids because they were designed as multi-group content, not single group content.
That's all there is to say about that; as I said, I think this little subtopic has gotten rather astray from the thread's subject.
