SE morally reprehensible behavior

I think it's kind of refreshing to see someone actually just saying things how they are, instead of minding their words.
Also, this topic is not about loot in the game, its about the time you pay for with your subscription.

The vast majority of his post was dramatically stating how SE screwed us by resetting our progress while lounging around their dark laboratory maniacally rubbing their hands together like Mr. Burns. They raised the fricken level cap. Did people think we were gonna be crafting Kirikimu leathers with our Lucis post-expansion? The main gripe in his post is about the reset. Not the lack of recipes, not the favors and not the red scrips. The reset itself was hardly cloak and dagger and if people were shocked that everything they did in 2.x expired, they probably should have paid more attention.

Perhaps you dont remember, but I remember the OP mentioning fully melding the i150 set in anticipation of the red scrips and new recipes being introduced. This leads me to believe that what he means is not physically reset, but spiritually: crafters were lead to believe they could spend their time crafting in this game. Then that priviledge was taken away from them. Or reset, as he calls it.

All of the time you spend years of believing you could enjoy this game just gathering or crafting, or mainly do either instead of exclusively; all that time is now worthless. You used to be able to make things of use with a small or medium time investment; now you spend a lot of time for..nothing at all.


Maybe its just me reading too much into the OP, but as I see it it isnt that hard to see at all..

Saw the click bait style title, just knew would be you even before looked at who made the thread. Also wasn't surprised after taking the bait and looking inside to find the same melodramatic style content within the first post. Tone the melodrama down a notch already, pretty sure you are capable of putting across your opinions and stance without constantly resorting to such ridiculous over-dramatization of the issues all the time...

On the topic itself of course SE were going to for the most part reset the process inline with vertical progression when the expansion came around after they increased the level cap, it was obviously going to happen as it does in pretty much every MMO's addition of new expansions and new content. The same applied to dungeons, raids, gear, tomes, material values, crafting and gathering aspects as with everything else.

Ppl r only staying subbed as they wanna see it through/ wishful thinking. But if SE pulls another reset on 4.0 ( which they will ) and make it a grind with no reward then this game's subs r gonna drop like mad lol

Yeah, it's not like we haven't seen this happen any in other MMO ever. Ever.

It's not like the largest poster child for MMORPGs resets itself nearly every two years.

It's not like it's done largely for accessibility reasons.

Resetting won't kill the game. Keeping the main scenario requirement to move forward to expansions will kill the game more than the tried-and-true-reset-at-expansion will.

Immoral can be. For example, another game I played it was all but confirmed that the Devs did not include a chest and one other piece of loot in a boss fight. Thousands of clears and no one had it. Thing is, the game had lockouts, but you could buy replays. Company was making a killing doing this. Apparently it was the second time they pulled that.

After getting called out and a riot starting on the forums, there was a hot fix, in which they didn't adjust the drop rates but the pieces mysteriously started dropping all the time.


But evil, yeah that's pushing it. More than a little.
