Problem is, no one says anything in dungeons anymore, even if you say something to them :/ to be fair, if someone's busy with something / knows they could become busy at any moment (going somewhere, people over etc), I don't think they should really jump into a dungeon as a tank. That's kind of rude and inconsiderate to the other 3 people. Sure, a baby isn't predictable, but if it's awake and crying, I don't think someone should hit queue (actually had someone in dungeon have this...)

    1. the tank can not do anything without the healer backing them but also if the DPS cant kill what you are pulling before the healer loses all mp then you are also going too far. It is a group and the group sets the pace.

    2. If you have a new player, ask if they want boss explanations. I'm seeing more and more new players that either don't want or care about explanations.

I as a tank hate it when DPS over pull. The healer grabs something I start looking at the MP bar. Sorry DPS mains but if you have 0 levels in healing or tanking then I and I'm sure many like me don't care how you think of us. Though I did recently find a DPS that was pulling and asked him to stop. After his critic of my pace looked to see that he had all healing and tanking classes at 60 so I decided to try going further than my comfort level and was pleased by the results.

Group work is that group work. Don't be a jerk. Get a feel for the group and have fun.

The impatient people themselves don't even know how to play or how to do the strats >.>(had an impatient SMN in Qarn and did not dps bees AT ALL, despite the numerous times I've said, "dps bees", not to mention he could not even keep his dots up all the time on bosses...) I would have left that DBag if I wasn't helping FC members out.

Irritating that there are players like this though.
Neh, not the new guy voted to kick me, the two others did. The new guy actually left as well after I was kicked, finding their behaviour very unpleasant.

If that happens then you, the tank, shouldn't have this mentality of, "if you want to tank it then go ahead." I'm tired of the "me, me, me" mindset. You're playing an mmo with other ppl. The party sets the flow. If you want to set your own pace, please go player a single player game
Take your own advice, please. The tank pulls because 1) it's the easiest way to establish aggro, 2) he/she mitigates incoming damage more than others and 3) it makes positioning mobs much faster when they don't have to be gathered from all over the place. There is absolutely no reason for anyone other than the tank to pull. It's just plain rude and counterproductive. If you have a problem with the pace, use your words and ask nicely instead of trying to dictate the pace.

I miss the old days where you had to type "LFG" in chat and form the party yourself from scratch. If anyone were *sshats they'd be known for it right away and other players simply wouldn't group up with them anymore. You actually had to put in some humane effort. Do I dislike the duty finder? Not at all, it works. But the old days, man... *sigh*

Also, thumbsup to OP for helping the new guy. Keep it up brah.

This is one reason why I shy away from tanking dungeons. On another note, as a healer, I stick with the tank. If the DPS pull a boss, I don't run in without the tank. I dislike having those burdens, so I decided to just keep playing as my NIN.

That combined with server communities where if you acted like an ass you didn't even find a group anymore.
Sadly we are in the age of in game systems finding groups for you.

Maybe I'm just a huge jerk, but if I'm tanking and someone else pulls a mob I do not engage at all.

If they're so impatient they want to screw things up by pulling, then they can enjoy the extra time taken to die and return and do it right. If they think we're saving a few seconds by running straight into mobs then they can wait back in the queue for another tank that will put up with them.

I have no keyboard, so I rarely talk/type during runs. My flaw is that I have a tendency to correctly spell and punctuate my sentences in the game. So no keyboard AND typing correctly is usually overkill for those who are looking for a quick answer.

Them: "Jim can u goad me early n follow up with trick?"
Me: "Sure thing! I can do that."

    ...but they are expecting...

Them: "Jim can u goad me early n follow up with trick?"
    Me: "k"

You missed the point of what they were saying. They weren't saying for the dps to go ahead and pull, they were talking about how if the other 3 people can handle more pulls, the tank should go for it, rather than the tank deciding they're in charge of everything. If you had a tank who was set to walking and didn't pull with shield lob/tomahawk, while only doing 1 group at a time, wouldn't you tell them to pull more and not to walk?
