in ffxi the exp groups was just a big a part of the game as endgame was, u did that alot, it took a long time per class to reach it's max, and then they added merits on top of that. this game is a little bit lenient but it's pretty much looks like it working it's way to be the same where exp is just as important and time consuming. it needs to be a very fun process like in ffxi, it was very fun, games with just quest grind in a week and done might as well just start u off at max level and jump u right into u'r 2times a week raids so u can just log in twice a week and feels good man. but this game shouldn't be that route, ffxi wasn't and if it changes some of the best mechanics from ffxi i don't think this game would succeed either way, most ffxi fans witch is majority of the base by now that is left would probably leave too. i know i would, theres just way too many mmo's like this, quests for a few weeks and done stuff and this game don't provide anything on top of that to enjoy. fact i think i'd spite se for going the route of easy peasy for cash and go with a diff game for sure...
on the hole exp party grind thing though i'd say the chaining of mobs was a great idea to add, they should go a bigger distance with this and make the mobs that come very very random. so it makes grinding very different ...pop in some really hard mobs in the mix, also add different class types to the mix, from anoying mage weapons like in moon type lol to imps. also i mention in many threads they need to also make all the mobs more dynamic, without this then we got grinds on wow quest mobs, where every mob we kill is the same so grinding from 1-max will be like killing 1 mob the whole time. witch is what it feels like to me right now. other then that i'm very happy that they bringing back the party grinds, i don't think i would of lasted a year without it in game. ....now add in party missions and full linkshell events and i'm yours se for another 5-7years and 700days of gameplay.
