Yea i'd rather them put their resources into something else like the battle development team.. Shadows isnt gonna bring anybody back or making anybody leave.

Plus, it may make it harder to handle on the PS3 if they add overhead to the engine runtime. At this time, other matters take precedence such as the combat, ui, content, and network latency (imo).
I agree. We can scrap the shadows for now and focus on fixing battle. That would work for me. Anything that improves the games foundational elements, not this fluff like events.
Events keeps people entertained for a short time while they fixing stuff, major patch always takes more than 2month to get release, there needs to be something to do inbetween.. Events makes the game less dead. Many people enjoyed the summer events.
Which is my point exactly. Events are a positive thing for MMOs. They keep people entertained in short bursts and generally require far less to create and set up than all the other content. Throw up a few decorations, add a monster spawn or two, set the event NPC and you're done. Also I know at least for me, when I had quit the game for a few months back at launch I kept coming back at the very least for the events. Even though I wasn't happy with the game back then I kept the game on my computer and logged in just to make sure I participated in the events. Eventually I came back to the game after the Heavensturn event because I could see the other changes they had made to the game.
You need to fluff to keep people's mind off the issues at hand. It's reality television for MMORPGs.
It's okay that you don't know this yet, when you become an adult you will.
Right friend. Maybe when I grow up I'll be able to overlook complete absurdity if someone gives me a lollipop to distract me.
Works for babies, idk it might work for you the way you are whining about SHADOWS! I looked @ this thread and was like "dude, this guy has gone off the deep end." Chill smoke a blunt, crack, w.e you do that makes you wanna look @ shadows some more.
LOL @ the whole thread, even the Age of Conan reference.
Dx10/11 is mandatory for a "modern" mmo... Consider this, most of the machines capable of running this game are already using dx10/11 cards...
Anyone claiming that a silly summer event is more important than improving and streamlining graphics to something that is not already dated are fools, pure and simple.
Cheers to the OP for having the patience to debate this topic with clowns who clearly do not know what's best for the game.
