I'm sure you train for running events by glancing at the position of the sun in the sky. Wo needs stop watches anyway! Everyone knows any deviation from your coddled track practice is a loss in speed when dealing with real world terrain! You don't need a stop watch to know that!

Information is not bad. Accurate information is always better than fluffy guestimated and human 'observation' (which there are tons of psychological and physical limitations that color what we think we are doin vs what were ACTUALLY doing).

Didn't know you write equations to run. Let's stick to the topic. The mathematically best rotation is the highest dps you can achieve. Anything other than that is not. You know what you didn't do (mistakes in the fight) to fit the best rotation and you don't need reinforcement so verify 290-200= 90 potency lost. DPS should be only considered in potency. Anything other than that, and you are relying on random factors for your dps. And regardless, rotation doesn't change when gear changes, so if you were doing perfect before changing to a better weapon, then you will be doing proportionally the same after. If you don't have the attention to look at the screen to observe your own moves then you should not be playing in groups which depend on you to pay attention to things like mechanics. Let me guess? You use calculators to verify you can add correctly two numbers below 1000?

And here, you're dead wrong. Sometimes rotations (in particular, oGCDs) have to change as you gear up, due to Skill/Spell speed. More SSPD == Shorter time between GCDs == less room for your oGCDs to go in. This can, depending on your latency and the specific oGCDs, cause GCD clipping to occur, which is almost always a DPS loss. Mostly an issue for MNK and NIN, tho.

Dancer is a physical hybrid melee/range class, not a true ranged class. I love it.

If you are getting a dps loss, then you can just wait. >.> Like wtf is that even an argument? "I lost dps because I was pressing buttons too fast".

Here we're talking about like fractional dps loss.... people doing optimal rotations getting fractions of seconds of clipping aren't the people doing dps that is half of the other dps in the group.

This is also true. Having a good rotation with clipping is better than having a bad one without.

As a response to both you and the other guy who quoted me: I was simply pointing out that "your best rotation is always the same regardless of gear" is wrong.
