I haven't reached the point of getting Patience or Patience II, so can't comment on #2, but #1 is already starting to be an issue, even at level 37 BTN / 38 MIN, with the prospect of it continuing to just get worse the further I get.

We have assorted gear bonuses, food bonuses, and so on that can increase our maximum GP, but nothing to help with actually gaining the points to reach that maximum. They should either make it a percentage, as you mentioned, or give us traits to increase the regen speed, or maybe add GP regen buffs to equipment and/or food along with the max GP bonuses. I'm not too particular about how it's implemented, but we need something to boost GP regen as we start moving up in levels.

To explain, Patience and Patience II are fishing buffs that cost 450/570 (or something like that) GP that increase the HQ chance of getting fish by 50%/80%, at the cost of a debuff that reduces the chance of actually catching a fish by 40%/75%, respectively (Patience II also adds a buff that increases the odds that you hook a larger fish, but that's irrelevant to the context of the issue). Now that sounds sucky until you realize that Powerful Hookset and Precision Hookset will negate the debuff for a single catch at the cost of 74/82 (or something like that) GP, and both of those hooksets can only be used while Patience/Patience II is up. It's unbelievably useful for catching fish.

The trouble is that, if you cast your line before the buff/debuff expires, then it expires while your line is in the water, not only does the HQ buff and catching debuff effects stay in effect for that hook, but you can't use Powerful Hookset or Precision Hookset to negate the catching debuff.

Not sure if you understand what I'm trying to say, but if you plan on pursuing fishing, you definitely will.
